Islamic terrorism has initially been ruled out. Can we stop bleeting on about it and stick to the facts instead? We can come back to the Islam bashing if and when it has been decided that Islamic extremists may actually be a factor in the bombing.

There I currently no evidence to suggest it is Islamic terrorism as well. So far this year the majority of incidents reported on OCUK where people have immediately jumped on the Islamic terrorism bandwagon have ended up not being related to it, as has been discussed before. Why not just wait and see rather than start the usual downward spiral that mods are trying to stop with post deletions.

No evidence and ruling out though are two very different things.

At the moment they most definitely haven't been ruled out, that's the trouble - nothing has other than the fact that some arse placed a bomb.

You're right there. I'll admit I'm wrong on that point

Im not going to concede the point that these sort of threads need heavy moderation (malevolences post I quoted) because they'll end up as Islam bashing threads otherwise, even when there is no evidence it is anything to do with it at the time, or subsequently afterwards. (That's when usually a certain section of OCUK then spend their time trying to instigate conspiracy theories and "prove" government cover ups to back up their preconceived notions)...

What is very interesting though is that from the photo I've seen the design is very similar to the Boston Marathon bombs I believe. If I recall correctly they were IRA design inspired.

Not necessarily designed to kill but certainly designed to maim. Which is of course waaaay better :rolleyes:

I think you take this forum thing a but too seriously. I gave up arguing about stuff years ago, there's literally no point to it. I have my opinions, other people have theirs and neither of us are going to change. Consistency doesn't bother me in the least either. Mods are just people volunteering their free time to babysit us, cut them some slack.

I thought that too. I also wondered if there was any connection, or if it was used because it's a fairly easy design with easy to find/non suspicious parts. Has the type of explosive been released yet? I.e. gas, HE or home made fertilizer style?

It pretty much opens the door to it being built and laid by anyone for any purposes unfortunately. Could be related to some for of international cause, or it could equally be a lone wolf believeing in anything, or a militia group getting grumpy, or equally some kind of gangland style idiocy (probably less likely). Either way lets hope the idiot was stupid enough to leave fingerprints and DNA on the device, and have their details on file.

I'm glad it's been deleted since you posted this. It's a horrible phrase and used way too much by too many of a certain type of poster on this forum, hence the specific way I used it and the reason I mentioned why I used it.

You won't see me using it again (and I believe it's the first time I've used it on here as well).

Edit: just to clarify I didn't realise it was a banned phrase, but am glad it is.

notjust dna but serial/batch numbers of anything used inside, could take a lot of painstaking work but they could use it to track back things to specific stores etc and cctv for id.

curious what the phrase is now
