Concerned by Nvidia's current state of DX12 and Vulkan performance

Yea maybe in some areas the gains would be less on a 480 too but overall it is probably always higher than OPenGL. I found on 4k t actually went from quite choppy to very smooth. Its almost like a gpu upgrade.

Nice :)

Shanks, if you had just said ****ing 'choppy' in the first place, this DX 12 concern from a Nv user dilema wouldn't have been flipped.:p

Anyway, back on topic, GOW4 BM's are out:

Either DX12 is flying on Pascal in this title or Maxwell's in trouble already.

Give me a G an I an M a P an E and D :D:D:D:D.

:D

Yes they are but why is it smoother for you over DX11? What is the differemnce that makes it feel smoother? I play so many different games and some are DX12, most are DX11 and a few odd ones but DX11 feels nice and smooth to me, as does DX12. I remember there being an article some time back on PCPer about FCAT testing and AMD were dropping frames, so maybe this is what you are experiencing with DX11?

Both dx11 and dx12 don't, I repeat don't stutter both are more than playable. It's just dx12 even battlefield when using mantle feel a lot more responsive.
I'll ask you again do you notice a difference between 30fps and 60fps?
While am not saying dx11 = 30fps etc it just for some reason these new APIs feel a lot more smoother to play.

I can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is!
But my guessing is mix between higher min fps and lower frame timings make the games feel better.

Not according to 1070 owners who are complaining in the Deus ex MD thread that they have to turn the graphics settings down so much just to remove stuttering. Even the wildly-priced 1080 can’t get it smooth at Very High settings (never mind Ultra). I would nearly pay the silly Nvidia prices for Christmas if they could max out current games, but they can’t. And they are even slower in DX12! That’s the problem.

huh.. so thats why my 1070 is a mess in Deus Ex..i had to quit playing that game due to frustrating stutter.

it was just a crappy optimized game. lol amd game on launch performed worse on amd cards.

just wipe games like that out the equation.

A: Deus EX MB is a hog and doesn't even look that nice to warrant it and in a lot of area it frankly looks terrible (Parallax mapping for example)

B: Deus EX MB is a AMD sponsored game and as such there cards perform better than average for once

C: The DX12 build is in beta atm, considering B you would think there first pass would be AMD focused anyway

D: AMD cards will always see the biggest gains from DX11 to DX12/Valkan eps in CPU heavy games due to the large CPU overhead AMD DX11 drivers have

E: DX12/Valkan is not the silver/magic bullet people think they are, very much a double edge sword

The game it self was very disappointing and was a step back from HR, worst Deus Ex game since Invisible war.

Yer the 1070/1080 pricing is abit **** but you are going to charge as much as you can when you have zero competition in the high end.

If that’s the game you’re playing now you can’t wipe it out of the equation just because it gives inconvenient results, especially in DX12. Also, once you fix the performance there is a brilliant game in there hidden under the initially poor performance. Definitely does not feel optimised alright though, it feels like they put too much in certain areas just because the new engine can do that.

Unless Nvidia's money is involved every game is an AMD sponsored game as they are all designed to run on AMD powered consoles.
