Do you guys buy helmets online? My CBT instructor made a good point of never buying online as the helmets often get flung around in vans, depots, fall off pallets, etc. He reckons that helmet couriers who deliver to dealerships are specialists in fragile stuff, dunno how true that is.

Given that a helmet is the inky thing between my dome and imminent death, I think I'd prefer to go in store. Helps get a better fit too.

I've seen J&S in Birmingham receive a shipment of helmets in a standard white van, and they dropped the pallet on the floor.

A few pics from Box hill - even on a slightly chilly October day there was still lots of interesting stuff there.

The Tuono was getting quite a few looks and people stood talking about.

My next bike, a 2012/13 KTM 990 Adevnture, in this exact colour.

TBH that sounds pretty good already! :D

Came back from Guildford way today (popped into motolegends, probably the most friendly bike shop ever - cup of tea/coffee offered as soon as you walk in, proper personal service) along the m25, sitting at 75 or so the Tuono is going to eat up the miles, it's lovely and comfy and relaxed at that speed (and is pretty damn good sitting at faster speeds too ;)) :)

hardly anything tbh, the little front cowl does a good job. 75mph is like stroll in the park. the wind blast only really becomes noticeable at nearly 3 figures tbh :D on my private road, of course.

You can get bigger screens too.

Haha I love how many people have private roads on here, yet I don't have one :( ;)

It's very cold this morning, 4'c, ice on the cars and road, too dark for my dark visor so had to ride with it open, I'll have to change back to my clear one as it'll be dark when leaving for work and when coming home :(

Is this any good? I'd like to go test ride bikes but I'm guessing it'll be rammed with people wanting to do that. Do you have to pay extra to actually do anything while there?

It was okay as a once off but you're better off going directly to a dealer you want to see a bike of.

And stuff there is no more cheaper than somewhere like sportsbikeshop.

Certainly not worth paying for considering all it is is advertising.

There were some decent deals on at the London show, some stuff was no cheaper but if you wanted a helmet there were literally thousands there. My Tomtom was the cheapest I've seen it so it was worth it for that.

gonna give up riding :(

once my fingers healed, will get the car license sorted and get a car.

might put some money aside though and in a year or two get a track bike.

We'll make sure your access to this part of the forum is removed if you give up biking :p

Don't give up biking, give up commuting on a bike. You work stupid shifts and half the time you get on your bike you're a zombie liable to stupid mistakes, as you've now experienced. When I did nights, driving home was always crap as you're never 100% there and neither are most of the people on the roads, it's dangerous. On top of that you ride one of the most powerful bikes in the world (or at least when it was launched), it's a recipe for trouble.

Buy yourself a Micra or something, put the bike in the shed and keep it for weekends / pleasure. Use the Micra for commuting as it's much, much safer.
