*** Battlefield 1 ***

After 3 hours I have definitely warmed to it. The graphics look stunning at times and it runs silky smooth which means I actaully get a proper framerate and not the usual 20fps.

I think I'll be buying it, sure it has faults but the gameplay is better than the recent SW Battlefront and I've been crying out for a World War 2 game so WWI will suffice.

Well, my 10 hours is over and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The game is far more refined than the beta, performance is fantastic, as are the maps. Obviously there's a couple of big bugs at the moment, like quick match. Although, I'd imagine that'll be fixed on release or shortly after. I have no regrets buying this.

I had a blast with my 10 hours, mostly playing support. I love the BAR, although it still seems no one drops medic packs or ammo packs. Theres tons of medics but no one actually gets you back into the fight.

Keeping my pre-order though i think the game still has some issues with the sheer amount of AT capable things in the game. If your Tank gets remotely close to infantry expect a barrage of AT grenades, 2 hits can cripple your tank and make you immobile, down to around 45% health or thereabouts, then at range you have to contend with the AT guns and the tank hunter elite. AT rounds are more lethal at mid range as you've far less space to see the tracer and try and get out of its way.

Couple that with planes with bombs and AT capability as well as snipers pecking away at your armour with K rounds, also infantry with HE mortars. Tankers will have a hard time or it on certain maps. Though there's still some tools that think the tank is "OP".

We also have the usual dice issue of character models not actually doing the same thing from your point of view compared to theirs. Earlier on there was an AT guy on top of a building, his gun from my perspective seemed to be pointing at the sky, yet he was happily slapping me with AT rounds, just stupid things like that can get irritating, but that sort of thing has pretty much always been in BF games thanks to the prone system spazzing out when funny terrain angles are coupled with it.

I also noticed a weird issue with the planes, i'm unsure if its lag related but sometimes you'll be tailing a plane and it sort of slides off to random angles. It's not the plane turning it sort of suddenly moves around in the air like the server has decided it should be in a different location than what it was. Moves more like a UFO when that happens.

I always play as a medic, always drop medic crates and will always attempt to rez anyone I see downed, quite often resulting in my death lol

I pre ordered the game today :D
But after finding out about no hardcore mode in the game I just got a refund:(

Just play on a server that has 50% health, same difference and you can disable the hud for a better experience also.
As said before I noticed people take time less time to drop in bf1 normal mode, not like BF3/4 where you could empty a whole clip and the other chap would turn around and 1 shot you, maybe the hit boxes are perhaps better.

Has anyone had any luck connecting to Operations? When it can actually find a server I just get an out of sync cinematic about Amiens then the screen goes back and I get sent back to the menu.

With regards to the vehicles, are they still the same as each other on each side? I.e. Each side has identical tri planes identical tanks etc

I haven't really had much time to play this week, still have 5 hours left on my game-time, so I guess an afternoon session is in order today.

The only way i have found that works is to press either "J" "K" or "l" (which is your keys to type in game). When you have pressed any of them press enter to stop typing. It should then work

Thanks I'll give that go as well. My mate said alt tabbing fixes it and it does. But quickly using the typing keys should be faster so I'll give that a go first next time :)

I am a massive BF fan to start off lol

I managed to get on an operations server last night and wow it was awesome.
At the start of the round we were in the trenches while the timer counted down then we all charged over no mans land with bullets and explosions going off all around me.

Dived into an enemy trench shot one with primary then switched to pistol took another out then knifed one and I died :(

couple of seconds later boom revived and taking the objective.

I admit I am a fanboy buy boy it was quite an experience.

I'm struggling with getting the mouse how I want it as I think the game speed is different from bf4 but apart from that I'm happy. 3 hours left for tonight I cant wait !!
