What film did you watch last night?

Trumpland - 7/10

Michael Moore trying to reach out to Trump supporters in this stand up show in Trump heartland. Funny and better than I thought it would be.

The Da Vinci Code 6.5/10

Overall it WAS good but the pace was off throughout the movie IMO. Fast, slow, fast, slow, slow, fast...it felt a bit jumbled. I think the acting from Ian McKellon saved it though. Tom Hanks WAS good but he felt a bit bland.

I only watched it as I had never seen it and the 2nd sequel is recently out.

Storks (We took our 4 year old for her birthday).

6/10 : The bits with the "Wolf Pack" were the best/funniest, didn't really hold her attention but overall not too bad.

Star Trek Beyond. 7.5/10

I enjoyed this. There was only one thing that annoyed me a little.

This ultimate weapon wasn't really very ultimate. It kinda sucked actually. I think Krall should ask for his money back!! :p

Supersonic 9/10

Wish I was old enough to appreciate it all more back then. Sadly this generation will never see anything like it again.

Day off today so went to a 9:55am showing of Doctor Strange with the wife. It was alright, nothing special, but entertaining enough. Quite liked Tilda Swinton in it. Cumberbatch was pretty good, too.

I can't imagine how it must have felt being in that helicopter on the way to Knebworth and seeing just how many people had turned up to see you. Unbelievable.

Most people seem to think it went downhill from there, but I seem to be one of the few that think Be Here Now is up there with Definitely Maybe at the very top, length and all.

Personally I think it was downhill the moment they made "music"

Jason Bourne

If you're a fan of this franchise then you won't be disappointed. It's basically like all the others except with some different faces in different places.

Really? I liked the first, the following ones were significantly worse but watchable. This was absolute trash compared to them. It wasn't particularly the same, there was no element of the chase, there was no real 'intelligence' going on. In the first film they had to actually find them which in film terms meant them doing research and having to find them. The latest film was dire in that respect.

Who hacked us, oh right, we somehow have that information right in our database already. How will we find them, I wonder if it will be hard to find them, assemble a task force, nope, pressed a button and she was found in seconds. "smells like a meet to me" because she was... travelling, how obvious.

Squishy face literally found Bourne in a private room then decided to leave a note to meet her in a place with hundreds of people who would be filming where all the local police/intelligence would have cameras everywhere.

The riot escape, somehow the bird back at the base knew he'd found a way out, because she had the location of all police and satellite images which you know, he didn't have, but she knew the second he'd reach a specific road.

Where as the other films were a chase, difficulty finding him, intelligence work and real fights, this was just CSI:cyber levels of stupid. Every piece of tech usage was stupid. Hackers accessing stolen files just plugging them into a networked computer, with blinds open, without monitoring it in any way shape or form.

Compared to the previous films which weren't smart, this is a travesty of stupid writing. The action was bad, and lacking, the stupidity of people on the run apparently travelling everywhere on public transport with zero effort to wear disguises of any kind. The asset operates around the world leaving a trail of bodies and his face on camera.... but somehow operates anonymously around the world.

Again while I wouldn't call the first films realistic, they at least attempted to be gritty and realistic with the action and the car chase scenes. This one that went out of the window completely, long chase scene with a police swat van that had the power of the train in GTA V, or otherwise known as breaks all laws of physics.

There was honestly nothing redeeming about it, the camera work was MUCH worse, more shakey and even more editing... moving from over the top but watchable earlier films in the series right into Taken 2-3 levels of garbage. Bad action, bad story, bad car chase, bad character building, bad everything.

Beyond Bourne every other character was basically dead, no emotion, no depth, no back story, we know absolutely nothing about them and they aren't at all interesting.

If the first was a 7-8/10, 2 through 4 were in the 5-7/10 range somewhere, this one comes in at a 2/10.

Incepted Harry potter the friendly ghost in black 3, or DrStrange by it's real title.

4/10

Masterclass in imagery but like some before "cough avatar cough" Fails pretty hard at being any good beyond that, too fast paced with gaping holes in a awful story, which let it down as I feel it could have been much better. Would appeal to the under 18s I think.
