What on Earth have they done?

Black market imports. The ones in France arent changing size, just the UK.

Just import from the EU.

Will make no difference:

FACT: 128% of all Toblerone is purchased from duty free shops in airports

Still, the outrage continues. 'Someone call this bloody Toby Lerone fella, this is foul play!'

I'm off to Calais to get wedding wine, if this brexfectionary crisis continues I could make my fortune importing ever so slightly bigger chocolate bars.

Not just them. Birdseye and Walkers have both said their stuff is going up 10% to 12% due to the cost of raw materials all bought in dollars increasing.

We will soon have runaway inflation and then people will be wanting 10% payrises.............

I'm going to need a van.

One question, I work in the public sector, what exactly is this pay rise of which you speak?

They did the same to chocolate oranges months ago, the segments are as thick as an after eight mint with a thicker "skin" to keep the round shape... then supermarkets drop the price from £2 to £1 because they can't shift them!

Those have been progressively getting smaller every year. They really are a shadow of their former self.

Nah the supermarkets drop them as this is the time of year to drop them to their selling price (which is all decided by the company rather than the retailer in these cases, so they can rotate the sales price between big retailers). They dont expect to shift them at full price, that full price is there to make the sale price appealing.

As money is worth less, things cost more or are less. You pay for what you get, this whole greedy company :(:(:( view is quite silly at times. You can see what you are buying when you carry it to the till. There are no conman or tricksters involved.

It's not just toblerone, we're being taken for a ride on all our favourite choc bars!
They seriously look like the 'fun' sized packs you used to get as a kid. I'd guess on average a 1/3rd has been knocked off. All while prices stay the same or actually go up.

Now known as Chocolate Satsumas.
The whole thing is ridiculous, and people will just stop buying them.

its the supermarkets fault, they all want stuff to sell at a certain price point,
Tesco have stopped selling Marmite because the company selling it to them upped its price for it by ~10%
had they had just made the jars 10% smaller for the same price Tesco would no doubt still be selling it

They now look like reject bars :p

Why didn't they just shorten the length of the bar?

Surely who ever suggested this and gave the go ahead can't still be working there.

Don't get me started on Wagon Wheels!

Because they would have had to make a new box solely for the UK market.

Cheaper to make the smaller bar fit the old box. Saves money.

How can it not be for brexit when they mention about costs increasing, that is a result of the pound dropping, which was because of the referendum?
