What film did you watch last night?

The Last House on the Left (1972)

I watched out of curiosity given its notorious reputation. I was so wrong, absolute nonsense. When you compare to true horror classics of the period (The Exorcist, The Omen) this film is a travesty and I can only surmise that the reputation is for its controversial elements. The story seems like it was cobbled together during a drug-addled session and should never seen the light of day.

Avoid. 2/10.

Black Hawk Down, what a good film, everything about it is awesome - that includes the version of Minstrel Boy at end credits. 10/10, I rarely rate that high.

Vanilla Sky - 9/10

Never too sure about Tom Cruise, but it remains one of my favourites. Blew my mind when I first saw it. Incredible soundtrack too, up there with the best.

That blue 250 GTO too. Drool.

Agree. For some reason it doesn't get much love. But I first saw it in a longhaul flight and loved every minute of it.

Bad Santa 2 - 5/10 - Dull, dry unsophisticated vulgar American humour. A few laughs but personally not my cup of tea.

Allied - 7/10 - Looked forward to this one. It was quite good. Brad was alright and Marion Cotillard was excellent. Good build up but was a little rushed in the climax. imo. Expected a little more in the finale.

Star Trek Beyond. Easily the best of the reboots, the cast seem to work well together, good action and the time past quickly enough.

That said the destruction of the enterprise and a lengthy space dock sequence what 3rd film have I seen that in before :p

Must have seen something different to me. Watched it on IMAX and thought it was poor. Watched it again when it came out on Blu-ray and still think it's the worst of the reboots.

When I went to watch Beyond I knew that it had got a mix reception, the split is one of the reasons I've waited this long to watch it. It might have been based on low expectations but I liked it.

Ghostbusters 7/10 for me.

I really really enjoyed it, a great laugh, got lots of chuckles from me, it's nice that it does it's own thing but also gives a few nice nods to the original films with the cameos.

Hope we get a sequel.

Watched this on Saturday with my son (11) great movie so much fun it was a fantastic reboot and really didn't take itself too seriously which was exactly how the original was done.

I think it worked well and enjoyed the female cast.

The guy screaming like a girl in the theatre was hilarious. Also the stay puft balloon was brilliant... :D

Special effects/ CGI were awesome.

Melissa McCarthy and Kate McKinnon were great in their roles...

Black Hawk Down is one of the best war films ever made imo. I loved it first time I saw it back in 2001 and have seen it about 20 times over the years since. Just intense visceral combat and no urge to try to do anything other than put you straight into the combat as if you were on the ground. One of Ridley Scott's best films I think.

I watched War Dogs last night.

9/10

Great film. Extremely entertaining from start to finish. Tight script and efficient pacing. Really funny in places and believable too.

Probably one of the best films I've seen in a year or so actually.

Doctor Strange 8/10

Pretty good. It helps that i like all the inception style reality warping. Although not as good as inception (what is :D) Its a good Marvel Movie.

I thought the ending was a little weak though. Hoping Dr Strange isnt a one-trick pony kinda superhero.

Utterly superb movie and a rare case of the remake being better than the original.

I just know that comment is gonna trigger someone but I mean it completely.

VS is very good but when i look back at it now...its a bit arty farty...and very sachrine sweet. I just wanted to puke at the overlong "romance" crap. The main story is v good though.
