Can't help with that one Andy , I seem to be fine qualifying , its just the dilemma of if I want to qualify and go through the pain of the weekend!
I tend to ping mine in with 3 bars of power, just short of the near post.
If you have a decent big man, you'll get a few goals. Think I got about 10 the last weekend league with Higuain.
Played a few games with my new team tonight to get used to it, safe to say things really didn't go well. I don't like James or Modric at all, both too lightweight. I'm also struggling with Khedira in the CDM role, Nainggolan is so much better, may have to get him again and just play him off chem.
Haha, last attempt to get to the weekend league and I get to the final only to give away the most ludicrous of penalties in the 90th min to lose 2-1. Literally the AI pushed someone in the box, I did nothing. Nail in the coffin right there.
Do they have a daily cup on a Friday? Can't remember anymore. Actually I do, they brought it forward a day to start on Friday. Oh well I guess it's a saving grace!

I use this method with IF Mandzukic, if the angle is wrong I just flick it on, seems to cause chaos.
So much so that in tight games, I ping long shots, in the hope of getting a corner.
one thing i sometimes do is play short, shield the ball and wait for the corner taker to run behind or to the side, play a through ball to him and then either dart into the box or play a quick pass to someone in the middle. Sometimes the corner taker (seemed to be toure who was worse for this) just stood near the corner flag and didn't move after taking the corner.

I love using Asamoah, just wish he could shoot, use him with Hamsik & Pjanic.

Just find it hard to be consistent with him.
That RSL MM was an absolute pain in the backside to complete with the required rating. Did all three and didn't get much.

Swapped back to 41212(2) after using 3421 i just prefer how 41212(2) plays. I may make a fitness team using 3421 instead.
Using balotelli upfront again forgot how good he is shame his IF doesnt play the same for me for some strange reason.
Managed to get into Div2 last night no doubt ill be in Div4 soon enough.

I had a fair few Bronze players from Basel/YB so it was OK, but certainly not a cheap one. Got IF Piatti and Shaqiri as the main ones, keep the rest for more SBCs. Sold some Barca/Real silvers for 6.5k each as well, easy.

No Radja Nainggolan? I thought he was main man in that league ? Also 433 (2) whats the main points of attack in that formation ?
Might switch to it in game to mess about it with it this in weekend
If you're on the counter you can try to find a winger or striker with an early through ball, this is how I score with Dybala a lot. Otherwise just knocking it about in the midfield, playing into the striker and waiting for a midfield run.
Hybrid-ing was definitely a good shout, Matic and Kanté for me are far and away the best CDM - CM partnership I've used. Pjanic is really nice as a playmaker as well although a little weak.
edit: Nainggolan is too expensive!
edit: 5-2 in the WL at the moment. One win was a 90th minute equaliser and then I just lost the plot in ET and think I lost by 2 or 3, other one the guy just completely outplayed me, I couldn't tackle him for love nor money.
