What film did you watch last night?

The Magnificent 7 2016

Not sure why Reviews gave Suicide squad 4 stars and The Magnificent 7 2 stars

I really enjoyed this

A solid 8/10 and the final battle was great!

Sully - About the pilot behind the Hudson river plane landing (not crash ;)), not sure how much Hollywood added to this story but either way it was done very well and makes you sit back and think just how miraculous it was.

Also I cant believe it was nearly 7 years ago!

I really enjoyed this

I liked it enough but really didn't like the final confrontation. It was so over the top it just got silly that it was drifting into slapstick almost.

Alien and Aliens. Hmm, these are great apart from the fact that everyone apart from Ripley seems to be utterly braindead, and that annoys me. I get frustrated watching films like this. I just refuse to believe they'd all be that stupid. Can't be bothered watching the third. :p

The Magnificent 7 2016 also

Started off a little django :) worth the watch, not outstanding but good. like others have said it got a little lost at the end but still watchable.

Snowden (2016) - 6/10

A topical and moral story of when to do the right thing, no matter the personal sacrifice, for the greater good.

Unfortunately, the film doesn’t do a very good job of explaining it – it gets so jumbled up in its own jargon and stylised presentation of Snowden’s glamourous life that at times, it’s hard to see what all the fuss was about.

It does eventually come together at the end, and mixing in real footage of Snowden was a nice touch.

Great acting throughout and a peek behind the curtain at modern espionage, but other whistle-blower films have done it better, and been harder hitting.

Arrival - 7/10

A very good film. Worth a watch. Glad I saw it. But I wouldn't give it quite the rave reviews some places give it.

Suicide Squad Extended Cut

A whole bunch of "meh". So much potential and it just felt so lackluster.

5/10 and most of that is for the hotpants.

Europa Report. 5/10

It's a pretty good space disaster movie. Slow, interestingly shot, respectably hard science for a movie. I would have given it 7/10 but for the last five minutes where they muck the whole movie up.

The Magnificent 7 (Fuqua, 2016) was perfectly fine; little more. I was impressed with some elements, good entertainment.

Suicide Squad (Ayer, 2016) was an absolute abomination of a film.

Dopey was one of the magnificent 7. . .

I take it you've not watched pheonix nights?

:p

Suicide Squad. 5/10. More comic focus than the heath ledger joker but alright. Think the script could have had a bit more rework..

Watched the new Ghost Busters.. hmm 4/10 but at the same time it's a different humour that some people may like.. I wanted the creep out - I wish they'd do a horror version of Ghost Busters.

Star Trek beyond - 6/10 Far too much silly irrrlevant action. Let's get to the Klingon war already.

Pacific rim - 7.5/10 have put this one off for ages, but actually really enjoyed it.
