Snowden (2016) - 6/10
A topical and moral story of when to do the right thing, no matter the personal sacrifice, for the greater good.
Unfortunately, the film doesn’t do a very good job of explaining it – it gets so jumbled up in its own jargon and stylised presentation of Snowden’s glamourous life that at times, it’s hard to see what all the fuss was about.
It does eventually come together at the end, and mixing in real footage of Snowden was a nice touch.
Great acting throughout and a peek behind the curtain at modern espionage, but other whistle-blower films have done it better, and been harder hitting.
