My girl was there last week and she doesn't remember any barriers. The barriers probably would have offended someone.

Someone was being interviewed on the BBC last night and they specifically mentioned they hadn't seen any barriers like Birmingham.

Thanks both, disappointing to hear.

I would have thought they were the "must have" in these events.

And from personal experiance i would say it's a bit more than that

Sad times. I cant help but feel glad i live in the UK our security services must be on the ball, surely we are a high priority target yet we seem to be fairing well.

There is a whole generation of well meaning but wrong headed politicians the World over who have thrown Europe and the Middle East into chaos. Their solution is always more of what we've already tried. The side effects of their ideas are being played out across the 24 hour news networks daily, I despise these idiots. Having grown up during the final years of the Cold War when things were getting better and the general existential threat was lifting I find the current situation so sad.

Well the situation in the middle east has broadly improved versus previous decades, so they are getting something right. Many of the dictatorships that dominated the cold war era are being replaced be democracies. Syria and Libya are obviously examples of where it has turned bloody, but those conflicts will come to a close at some point I suspect.

We have banned right wing ideologies. The Nazi party is banned outright in a number of countries and people in lots of counties have been thrown in prison for Holocaust denial and holding such views.

Nazi party were left wing on the economic spectrum, hence the Socialist part, and right wing on the sociocultural spectrum, hence the Nationalist part. They weren't just a right wing party.

Not really, some of their ideas were right, some were left. Socialism is an ideology and they were very strongly in favour of giving every German a job. I don't really know why everyone has to bring the Nazi party up in every discussion about Politics or Religion though

They are rejecting the often Western puppets and trying to make it themselves despite continual Western interference. You forgot Iraq in your list of bloody exceptions. As long as there is oil the West will interfere. This interference causes the terrorist groups to rise apart from the groups who had their origin in CIA and Pakistan Intelligence services to serve a need at one point. Libya has also spread to countries on its southern borders like Mali where the French are currently fighting.
