***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

So far I have only sat here and eyed up the box. I think it might be time to get building.

Saw that set in the store, huge box. You have a lot of fun ahead of you :)

Working my way through the Mercedes-benz Arocs, very enjoyable build.

Got the Porche from toys r us this morning, showed them the John Lewis listing for £174 and they price matched no questions asked :)

Will be my first build so looking forward to getting stuck in tonight!

Of course it's the same, any time china takes a product and pattern copies it after someone has designed it, it's the same. If you buy that stuff you are supporting it. It doesn't matter what it is, Lego, Iphone mount that someone has designed or Canon flash. They reverse engineer, copy and sell it cheaper. I wonder what percentage of ebay sales rely on it!

Apple don't car mounts. As I said I don't have an issue with cheap accessories. It's about blainat clones. IMO any real Lego fan would not touch this stuff with a barge poll

I consider myself a Lego fan, and as such I want a Collector's Edition Millennium Falcon.

Now, since Lego themselves no longer produce the kit, they cannot benefit from my custom this time.

So I am left with the option of either £150 for a Lepin kit, or ~£3500 for an used official one.

Not really a choice in my case.

I bought myself the Porsche set. First lego set I've had so nice I was a kid. Genuinely staggered by the design of it!
Done the first 3 stages, nearly done now.

Or brick link for £600.

Easy choice.

Edit. Even better you can spread it over months so you barely notice the outgoings.

I spent about 9 months collecting all the Lego for my Falcon.

Mid way through Lepin SSD and other than one or two minor issues, it's fine.

Hi folks. So after my initial posts in this thread I have finally got myself something to build.

Started off with a lego city advent calendar.

Then my awesome wife has bought me this:

Cant wait to get stuck in but due to family/friend visits I cant get started till thursday.

In at the deep end a bit - havent built anything in a very long time! So excited though!! :)

Oh noes I'm not a real Lego fan. As someone who has spent upwards on 3k-5k in the last 3 years (I daren't add it up) the thought I'm not a real lego fan doesn't really matter to me. :D

I bet you would download a car if you could wouldnt you :o :D

I have a new addiction forming, wife bought me the pet shop for my birthday and the cinema for Christmas..

I'm interested in getting the LEGO Technic Mobile Crane MK II 42009 to build as it is a nice challenge and a colleague and I were thinking of getting it for work (school) but he passed away before we got the Lego.

Typically Lego have retired the 42009 so, as a newbie to modern Lego, what are my best options for buying it? I've found it on Ebay but also on BrickLink. There are a few packs for around £190-200. Are these the full pack with 100% of the original box?
