The 'Show Your Creative Side' thread

Nowhere near as good as some of the stuff people are doing in this thread but I make Costumes and props, example of the Aquawoman armour I made for my daughter for Comic con last year below.

Post them! Unless it's a technical drawing, I can't draw to save my life.

Love this thread.

Post them, I have had a go at drawing on the iPad and just completely gave up.

OK then. Here are some comic book themed pics I drew with my iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil. :) Using the standard Notes app to sketch and then another app called Procreate to ink and colour them.

I spent a long time learning as I went to be honest. And I've still got a ways to go. But I have a real good time drawing comic book characters mostly. :) So long as you enjoy it that's the important part I think.

Cool, nice one I couldn't do that. Batman one is great like from a really stylised comic :)

I would love to be able to draw to that standard, nevermind where you are probably heading with more practice....

:) Thanks guys! Really appreciate the kind words. Drawing is great as it seems to use the other side of my brain to my work. Meaning that it's very relaxing and zen. As lame as that sounds lol.

Great to see this thread active and such a varied array of posts too :)

Customised desk and DIY PC Display stand

You may have seen this before in other threads but here goes ... I like my stuff to match. I was never going to buy a desk remotely resembling what I was after so I elected to go down the modification / DIY route. It started life as one of these:

It was chosen as it was small and sturdy, not for it's looks. It was heavily modified to include a shaped front section and side pieces made from MDF and covered in thick, durable and textured blackboard vinyl.

The monitor shelf was made in a similar fashion and includes some front blanking pieces to give it it a better visual appearance.

The height adjustable tilt/swivel mouint was built into the the shelf to avoid wasted space taken up by a large monitor stand:

This has a supporting strut underneath running the entire length which includes cutouts to allow cables to be passed through.

After buying a new windowed case, I realised I'd need to make something to raise it off the floor. I built this display stand, using the same basic design approach adopted for the desk:

I was a little concerned about the stability, but this has proven to be completely unfounded as the protruding legs help to stabilise it.

Very happy with how this turned out:

The display stand is a relatively recent addition. The desk mod is a few years old now and holding up extremely well. Blackboard vinyl is a material I use in most of my project builds now.

That is great, id love something like that, what brand are the speakers?

Haha that is fantastic! Don't generally get on with thrash, but that's musical thrash. The guitar solo's are great. Hardcore early Faith No More springs to mind.

Rahhh MOOORRE KICK DRUMMMMM!

*runs about smashing stuff up

haha thanks very much.

Which Con did she (you?) go to? The armour looks good, have you got any pictures of the complete armour? I did LSCC last year as Russell (from Up!) and planning on going LSCC this year as Roadhog (from Overwatch).
