*** Nintendo Switch ***

Yeah that is sneaky. Pre-ordered mine this morning, but no idea if it was before/after this warning! So no idea if I've got release day stock or not, pretyt poor system.

They not send a email out?

I'd imagine it's outlined in there.

I am sold. It looks fantastic and I think a fair price for what you are getting, those saying it's underpowered or just a portable Wii U. We're you watching the same trailers that I was.

The graphics look pretty amazing and it early can't wait for Mario it looked mind blowing.

Don't know if I would be cheaper picking one up in New York as am there mid March.

Nintendo like to pretend they are in their own little bubble but in a game shop if someone was looking at which console to buy they are more likely to buy the cheaper one with a game included, especially when the cheaper console also has the latest Battlefield, COD and Fifa.

The hardware isn't cutting edge it has no justification being as expensive as it is.

Without knowing stock levels we have no idea. If they for example only had 100 consoles and they all sold out they still haven't sold many.

Nintendo is not pretending they are in their little bubble. Nintendo is doing everything to create a bubble because the other bubble, the one with Battlefield, COD and Fifa are not the bubble they can compete in. You know that, I know that, they know that.

There is no point creating a 3rd console on the market that sells the exact same game with lower spec. What is the point? That won't sell at all. Their target audience are not your online multiplayer gamer. Which co-incidentally, are the most vocal. So online you will get those people, like yourself making the most noise. The old Nintendo customer from the 80's and 90's have grown up, their taste have changed, those people have grown up, those people have PC, those people have PS4. Nintendo are not catering to their taste, Nintendo are catering for people younger than they are. We won't hear those 12 year olds excited about this because we run in those circles.

Complaining about spec, complaining about lack of Battlefield, complaining about no GTA6 is like me complaining the PS4 doesn't come with a free screen.

Argh I have no idea what to do, buy the Switch and a game or two or a new CPU and motherboard????

Easy, go with the one that will give you most pleasure. I have a 4770 @ 4.7ghz so I know a new mobo and cpu won't give me much pleasure. But if I had a 920 or an fx, I would get more pleasure from that upgrade vs a switch :)

And you think the Switch is priced in a way that younger children are going to get one and extra controllers too? Not to mention there really isn't much in the way of games for kids until Mario.

Good response RL.
I was just about to comment that if this was another high powered device to try and compete in the same arena as Xbox and Playstation, where is the differentiation factor for Nintendo? Do we really need another console which can play CoD, GTA 6 etc etc?

The videogames industry has evolved so much to the point that games across all consoles/PCs are becoming the norm.. Games which were platform specific 5-10 years ago are no longer the case. Ironically, Nintendo still have quite a few console specific stuff... (albeit Mario Run doesn't help :D).

Big Nintendo fan but I'm kinda not feeling this console. I think if I had to put a finger on it I'd say it's the weak release line up - Nintendo doesn't seem to have learned.

I'm sure I'll own a Switch one at some point - but right now I think I'm going to buy Zelda for my Wii U, and just sit back and see what happens. I think there needs to be at least 4, maybe 5 must have titles for Switch before I errrr, Switch.

This is a good point too, but to be honest, we are now seeing younger children playing with iPhones and iPads which are the best part of £400-£500.

(Not saying its the case for all kids - but there definitely is a lot more spending power for kids these days....)

What an utter load of tripe.

They could easily go balls out on spec and garner the praise and acclaim that goes with that, shift boat loads of units to the people who want the third party games and the Nintendo stable of high quality software and people would hearld Nintendo for that move.

Kids of the day are not interested in Nintendo, the kids that are are the kids who have parents who are Nintendo die hards and insist on them liking the platform because of the nostalgia and memories of that parent, they buy them all the 3DS and stuff and get them to play it.

Kids of this day and age are into Minecraft, iPad games, you walk down any high street or take a large sample of kids game on and you will see iPads everywhere, not handhelds or 3DS's.

Check your account.

It will have a date of 3rd Mar if you were early enough. I have one of each on order. One intime the other not.

The differentiation factor has been and will always be their games, Nintendo don't need to keep creating pointless gimmicks!

Mario Galaxy wasn't amazing because you had to shake the controller around to collect starbits, Donkey Kong county returns wasn't amazing due to waggle.

Those games would have been amazing even without stupid controller gimmicks.

People buy Nintendo consoles solely for Nintendo games, how can you seriously say that if Nintendo had a console that had all the 3rd party games as well as their own games that more people wouldn't buy their consoles?

Well it may as well be an SD card, not entirely sure what you were expecting?

SNES size cartridges?

lol...are you going to post anything non-argumentative today? :p

It was just an observation. I wasn't expecting them to be as thin as that.

Also in the video it showed them inserting a 256gb Micro SD card into the machine.
