Reading that article almost gave me cancer let alone smoking :P

I honestly refuse to believe someone got paid to type that tripe.

As for the guy in the article, sounds like he was given bad advise or refused to research it before starting, but it's bsolutely not his fault

I hope he's that quick to point the finger when he goes back to smoking and is on his death bed in his early 50's
I had read this and it just made me wonder...

"I saw a post on facebook this morning that many of you may have seen - a guy who's mech "exploded" in his face. Further probing found he had no idea about battery safety, hadn't fitted the coils himself - they had been fitted in store around 1 year ago (fair play to the guy for getting a year out of his coils, mind!). He had no idea of the resistance and clearly hadn't undertaken any checks after rewicking. So yes, he is to blame rather than the technology in this instance. "

Its only from another forum and I am not completely sure how true it is.

But I am skeptical about the entire story from Idaho. I want to believe it is 6 of one and half a dozen

I can only believe that education and knowledge is the way forward and that we can help Vaping going forward

I normally buy from Jackamoo Juice and have also just ordered a variety of 10ml to try from the lads at VapourDepot.

Thing is, weekdays 9-5 I vape, outside of that I smoke stinkies. As of today, Im 100% vape. Problem is I anticipate vaping up to 30ml a day so its going to be expensive doing it this way. I need to buy more economically than just buying 10ml (I like to switch flavour often)

Never tried DIY before, I'd like to start simple and maybe buy 80/20 base mix, plus flavour, plus nicotine. Even better, can I get an 80/20 that contains 3mg Nic then I just buy a flavour shot?

Can you recommend a supplier and some flavours?

PG/VG/Nic (72mg PG) - Darkstar Vapour // get it all separately. It takes 30 seconds to mix up your base by weight (using scales).

Concentrates - FlavourArt.co.uk, Vapable, thee-cigshop.co.uk // personal preference. I swear by FlavourArt (free of any nasties) and imo they're the best concentrates out there for accuracy of flavours. NOTHING beats their Tiramisu.

Bottles - ibottles.co.uk

Scales - http://amzn.eu/fpsEU4q

Calculator & recipes - http://e-liquid-recipes.com/

_____

Initial cost may seem a bit high but I promise you, once you get a few concentrates you'll have so much fun coming up with new recipes yourself. It's by far my part of vaping. Hell of a lot cheaper too. You're talking ~£5-6 for 100ml.

I'd recommend something fruity to get you started (holla if you need some ideas), plus they don't need any time to settle/mature. Straight in a bottle, shake it up and you're good to go.

PS. Someone should sticky this, forgotten how many times I've typed this out in here!

I spent most of the morning reading up about this. He went back and edited his original post a little. Turns out he had been getting to the store to do his coils and such until the new FDA rules came into effect (basically stores arent allowed to physically work on a device like they used to be able to). Once the law changed he did it him self with no knowledge of ohms law, no idea what his batterys could handle (beleive they were the choco lg's which at most probably manage 18-20 anps) probably put a too low build in it and whoops... my battery has vented!

You sound like someone who needs an RTA in their life, fortunately the Minos has an rba deck, maybe worth the investment? Just remove wick, dry burn and throw some fresh cotton in when it gunks up?

Yeah it's quite common for the sweet American made liquids to gunk coils, I'm quite fond of wonder worm, 3-4 hours on an RDA and it needs cleaned!

I might have to go with your suggestion. Just a quick couple of questions...

How many times can i dry burn to clean the coil before you have to change the coil itself?

Also i'm not sure what's the difference between RBA and RTA, i know what they stand for but the RBA section of the Minos tank goes inside the same enclosed bit the Q2 stock coil goes in.. so it still has a tank of juice supplying it through the juice holes. Isn't that a RTA too?

It's already has a coil built on it so i think ill give it a try.

You can dry burn and re wick as many times as the coil will let you, once it starts loosing its shape or getting difficult to get a good center burn it's probably time to change, but given wire costs so little you'll find yourself changing wire quite often anyway.

RBA = rebuild able base atomiser, basically the part that turns a regular clero or subtank into an RTA.

RTA = rebuild able tank atomiser, a 100% rebuild able only tank.

The single most important thing is to master the wicking, it may take a few attempts but there are plenty of videos online to help you, look especially for ones using the tank you intend to use :)

Can by one please recommend an RDA great for flavour that I can pop on my squonker? The one that comes with it is terrible for it! (Coppervape BF)

Started off with the best intentions of mixing up a litre of juice this morning, planned two 500ml bottles to decant later on...

And then realised I had failed massively on my last order, 2 litres of pg rather than vg :( :(

Managed a cheeky 300ml with the supplies i had though.

Driphacks take on heisenberg is lovely!! Got a couple of oneshots and concentrates on route, think I've got a half decent Cherry bakewell recipe to try at the weekend.

I've got a Cherry Bakewell recipe bookmarked somewhere, I'll find it for you. Was pretty damn good iirc!

3% TFA Cheesecake (Graham crust) --(This is a fantastic flavour and works really well here, as it provides the cake base as well as the base flavouring for the icing)
1% FA Vanilla classic (I find this is needed to flavour the cheesecake. It makes it more like vanilla icing)
1.5% FA Black cherry (the standard cherry doesn't taste quite right)
1% FA Almond (better than marzipan in this recipe as it's much sweeter)
0.5% FA Catalan Cream (sweetens the icing)
0.5% FA Cookie

30ml a day is a lot!

Just get self mixing, 1/10th of the price.

reminds me....need some new flavourings. :)

Cleito120 at 70W, say no more. I thought the Crown2 was thirsty untilI tried the Cleito. Great flavour though.

Vaping at least 20ml week days, reckon I'll easy go through 30ml weekends when I chainvape all day and night.

Just found out I have NovaVape 2mins down the road from me and VapourDepot <5 miles. Both are highly regarded on Reddit so am going to visit and get some advice on DIY (and hopefully some good prices with me being a yokel!)

Was my advice above not enough? :p

Ahh yes the infamous cleito120. It just eats juice but as I'm in a conservation mode, I've had to turn it down from 80watts to 50 to make my juice last a bit longer. I think in the last 2 days I've burned through 40ml of my favourite nasty juice wicked haze. And buying the 50ml bottles are about £20 a shot so it's all adding up.

That's why I'm looking at going the diy route but at the moment, not having much luck trying to find the recipe for the nasty juice wicked haze e juice along with a few others. It's koolada based juices so that might be my issue there, as it's not a very popular juice by the looks of it as in I haven't seen anyone ask for a recipe.

Sorry bud, that was very rude of me, I meant to multiquote and thank you. Going to order some bottles from ibottles as you suggest, already have scales. I'll see how NovaVapes can help, if not I'll hit Darkstar et al.

Well, boxer tc160 had a short life of ~2 months. Fire button just fell out, locking ring no where to be seen :(

Got a funny feeling the board is the same size and layout as a DNA, see if I can pull it out and measure it (giggedy), if so I'll put it in another enclosure as the chip it's self is pretty good.
