Looks like it has some nice extras. Has the full system which I believe is decat, so that's pretty good. Shame about it being dropped. Also surprised at it having rust on the downpipes. Mine has ridden through all weather for 2 years now & not 1 spot of rust anywhere.

Where do you guys order chain and sprockets? I think, I'll just replace the chain for the time being, a guy who's a mechanic said that my sprockets are fine. Chain clearly isn't... lol

BTW what riveting kit would you recommend? :)

The warnings I see are 1. It's been sat for over 1 year. 2. What else was damaged in it falling over? Any potential internal/structural damage?

The drop looks minor, judging by the damage on the engine case in that picture. Looking at it, I did notice some brown on the coolant hose running upwards (on that same picture that shows the drop damage) - what is that? If you go see it, just check the hose clamps aren't rusting off or something. Also check the headers. They are out of the way of weathering, but if he says there's rust on the downpipes then the headers might be pretty rusty as well.

Potential other damage from that drop could just be the usual bits on the handlebars, mirrors, etc.

Sitting for over a year is probably fine. However, it's now 6 years old and only done 13k miles. It will have sat unused often. He got the 12k service done which is good, but has it been serviced yearly or on mileage? If it's on mileage then it will have only had 2 oil changes over 6 years.

Didn't realise it was 2011 when I replied previously about the rust, so can't really compare to mine in terms of that. You'd just need to see how bad it is.

So hard to tell without seeing it. Pictures can make bikes look so much better than they are!

Just wait till April next year. Might sell mine then :D

Which bike were you on?

Nice speed triple here, some damage so it could have been dropped but not a bad price.

I'm not getting Bella dirty!

It's very hard to go back to standard suspension though. I made the right choice with getting the Tuono.

Ok...

I'm looking for a second bike, something sportier for fun (with some track days thrown in) and have narrowed it down to an R6, or 675(r 2013+). I can imagin the r6 will come in cheaper and will be better for parts, but I love the look of the white 675s.

General opinion is the the 675 is more flickable, with lots on the lowend - midrange, but the r6 beats it on the top end.

Anyone ridden both of them and have opinions?

I'm considering giving the bike a proper strip and clean on Saturday, it's going to be a long mucky day...

Not ridden an R6 but have ridden loads of 675s and they are epic! For a track day bike you cant get much better, the triple engine is just fantastic, it seems to rev forever and not feel gutless like some of the IL4 600's do, and they do look brilliant in white.
My housemate has the SE white Edition/blue frame, think he is looking to sell his sometime this year...

When you say 675 what do you mean as that's not the name of a bike.

From your post I'm guessing the Daytona? They are regularly considered the best of the supersport bikes in comparison reviews.

How far are you going to strip it? I have got mine to a fine art takes me around 40 minutes if that to have all the fairings off including tail, and tank :p

All the calipers off pistons pumped out and cleaned, back wheel out, all the linkage bolts out and regreased, belly pan off to get at the oil cooler and underside, sprocket cover off, gear worm drive off, regreased and adjusted, end can off to give it a good scrub as the muck is properly baked on.

So not a great deal in terms of getting everything off but the amount of crap on it all is going to take some serious time to clean up. It's one of those moments I wish I'd kept on top of it a little more through the bad weather :o

I had a guy stop and chat about the bike when I parked up last week and the 2nd thing he said was "It could do with a clean though" when strangers start telling you that you know it's well overdue :D

Edit: Thinking about it, just getting the back wheel back in can take me a good half an hour if I keep knocking those ****ing spacers out and knocking the caliper bracket off the swingarm . On the other hand if I'm not having a special moment then I can drop it back in in 30 seconds flat.

I absolutely love my R6 (2006) and think that no other super-sport looks even half as nice.

Shame you aren't really local and that it's temp off the road as I'd let you ride mine! When are you thinking about getting one?

@Kreeeee Yep, the Daytona!

It would be summer-ish kind of time. I'm trying to be really sensible and not waste loads of money. I need to get the bathroom + kitchen done this year, not sure my wife will be as forgiving again if I turn up with another bike (I didn't warn her about the last one.)

Speaking to the guys at work, they said go for an old R6 if intended for the track. Would work out a lot cheaper...

I guess I'll try and get some test rides when the weather brightens up.
