Against Intel's offering its a no-brainer but the 6 core is the one that suits my budget.
I have an order for a 1700 elsewhere that says I will receive mine on the 2nd, so tomorrow.
Of course, I haven't ordered a Motherboard yet, because I'm going away for the next 2 weeks with work now
Never mind, I can check all the reviews while I'm away, and hopefully order the correct board for when I get back.

In 2 weeks there should be be 'enough' motherboards except for some formats/models.
Was looking at the 1800, which is a lot more now.

Thats the hope. And some reviews of different motherboards so I can get a good idea on what will work best for me.

I'm the other way, Confident of getting Motherboard before weekend but my OC 1700 order with what it says about the 17th this evening looking ominous

It literally states in there that the 1700 has XFR.
X means extended performance, it has higher base clocks, higher boost clocks and TWICE THE XFR boost. IE 1700 has XFR boost to 3.75Ghz.
End of, all the chips have XFR.

See, if you had a Ryzen 1800X, you wouldn't have missed it...
spanked? are you serious? all bar one the performance is the same, and this with 2133Mhz ram on a Motherboard with an engendering sample BIOS.
Getting a bit too eager to pour scorn on it.

they don't, they underclocked Zen memory by 500Mhz, overclocked Intel memory by 800Mhz and used engineering samples of both chip and motherboard without anywhere near final bios by the sounds of it. Meaning, that is less than the 1700x performance you'd really get, more importantly, 1080p gives identical performance where Bulldozer based chips wouldn't.
Which games? Considering the 1700 has a massive clock disadvantage I'd say its doing pretty well.
Page 10 of PDF shows 1800X has XFR of 100MHz+ over boost. So if as it X CPU it has twice as much XFR MHz then non X is 50MHz.
