Ya they launch tomorrow..
Surely that will be dependant on how much the 1800x overclocks by. Its all very well getting one chip to equate to another by overclocking, but its not really a fair comparison if you dont factor in both chips overclocking potential.

My source in southeast Ecuador just emailed to say that there is no binning at all and 1700 vs 1700x vs 1800x max overclock is a pure lottery

In that case maybe the 1700 is the best one.

I had that argument on reddit yesterday.
Some guy said 1700x is better value as it can overclock to 1800x speeds for £100 less so I pointed out that maybe the 1800x can also be overclocked thus being faster still.
He said that's not the point.
Well, yes, it kind of is.
Of course whether that's worth a further £100 is up to you, but it's like an equation, both sides have to match. You can't fudge the formula just to give the answer you want.

As soon as i saw the 1700 price i jumped all over it ....reminds me of them old amd spitfires durons now just have to find out where you do the pencil mod on these ryzens

I would imagine that wouldn't go down so well if that was the case. Uproar!
I really hope it isn't, and not just because I've preorderd a 1800x.

I think he said price would depend on stock, 2 weeks for restocking is horrible so there it goes.
