Doesn't seem to explain it... He just mentioned "High Performance Mode", as in the power setting profile right? If so, it's just a profile of settings that you can change independently. What setting is it? "Minimum Processor State"? If so, that will stop the underclocking (Pure Power) though right?

Yes they will take months, they might not be sorted ever, however it would have given board vendors time to sort some of the current problems and retailers to have stock. AMD are already paying the price and if things continue as is for the next few months a lot of people who where intent on buying Rzyen will just not bother. My 2 mates have already sent their cpu's & mb back, I cancelled my pre order and you just have to look around these forums and others to see how much AMD have lost.

Why did you cancel your pre-order and why did your friends send theirs back?

I don't think AMD have lost anything personally, they are shifting boat loads of CPU's which they weren't doing prior to Ryzen's launch.

I'll be ordering mine in the next month.

Well posting a video where someone claims something is smooth isn't evidence, if the video had frametimes then it would have been worthwhile.

Anyone tried F4 BIOS on Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 yet? I am running F3 but wondered whether it was worth upgrading to F4.

Single line listed for the description for F4.

Flashed the F4 Bios almost as soon as mine arrive. Boot times noticeably faster, but that's the only thing I've noticed so far

AMD have admitted themselves that it will not be a quick fix. It might get sorted, it might not, resolving one problem nearly always brings up another. I cancelled my pre order as I've had nearly 30 years of been an early adopter and I'm not prepared to mess around with bios updates, wait for Microsoft or whoever to fix bugs when they should have been given the correct instructions at the beginning. They sent them back due to boot problems, memory problems and a couple of other issues. Of course they have lost, people who wanted to upgrade are putting it off and who knows they might never buy a Rzyen cpu.

Boot time is a bit faster and more options in the bios. Cant boot at 3.7Ghz on stock volts now though, strangely.

Make sure you keep the bios that was good before ....seen it before where bios's get removed from the sites or even updated without a change log ...Seems you have a golden combo cpu and that other bios..

if there are more options with the newer bios these maybe now effecting the good results you had before

For example. LLC went from 0% to 250% and an option for every 10%, now there is mode 1-8. It has raised the stock voltage by .020 but I cant understand why it wont boot with OC set in the X.

If I move it to 37x when in windows it runs fine, just not booting with it now.

Id take those with a pinch of Salt, Jagat already done a sample of 10 x 1700 and got better results than theirs, id rather trust their review than the review of Silicon Lottery who make money from selling binned chips, something oddly tells me its within their interest to skew results towards sales for themselves
