If you struggle defensively thats where it made a difference for me, much more solid and counter attacking... put 2 wide CAMS stay forward, ST get forward and press back line and full backs stay back when attacking.
 
I set the CDMS to stay back too, won the first game and it seemed pretty solid. I was going to sell OTW Higuain but might utilise him.

Defenders really do bounce off of him which is weird for someone with 80 strength. His finishing is obviously awesome but when comparing him to 89 Icardi, who has 1 more finishing than him, his finishing is still so much better. These truly elite players really do have a different type of finishing to cards that have had a ton of in-forms, if that makes sense.

Shoutout to SIF Thomas Lemar. Amazing impact sub. Can honestly play everywhere except CB. I have the red version because I'm awesome, but buy him ASAP if you enjoy those type of players.
 
Five on the bounce with this team. Lanzini is the standout. Shame his IF is a LW. Can't help thinking Mertens will be better than Higuain

Yeah the formation is majorly overlooked. Defensive issues are far less a problem try Luiz over Cahill and Toure over Gundo at CDM.
 
I just used players I had lying around, Cahill I have always found really solid for me though, never tried Luiz mind.

Still thinking of swapping Higuain for 88 Mertens.
 
Spent a morning doing cheapish league SBCs; one's that cost around 3-4k that get you a silver pack. Just a PSA to not sleep on these, packed quite a few Ligue 1/Calcio A Silvers that often go for between 4-6k
 
Totally bored of this **** now. Used all my attempts to get into the weekend league, got to the final on my last attempt, came up against a team with SBC Suarez, messi, Ronaldo, Pogba, Rooney, Sergio Ramos De gea. Distinctly average player, beat me 2-0. Can't remember my last win in season, must be at the very least about 12 games ago, will get relegated to div 5, unless i win my last two games this season; bear in mind i haven't won this season yet in 8 games.

I just feel like I can't beat defender's with anything, i use Vardy/Musa/Wilson (all 90+ pace) upfront, and yet can't out run defenders, so yeah. Bored.
 
Probably just need to switch up your play/team/tactics.

Pace isn't everything in higher divisions, you'll come across players who can defend/block your pacey strikers.

Stop trying to rely on your STs to just outrun defenders on a counter, try some play makers or players who can hold the ball up while the rest of your team transitions in to attack to open up more passing lanes.
 
What's Hamsik like? Swapping Higuain for Mertens has totally screwed my chem and now I have to change half my team :( stupidly, I really want to keep Lanzini so its proving difficult.

I had the SIF one with Maestro and he was really good. Scored some brilliant long shots
