The city certainly feels strange this morning but still busy as ever.
R.I.P. to the 5 that have passed away.
I enjoy living in the countryside with zero chance of being caught up in anything like this. While I know the chances are minute, the thought of having to go to London next month and stand around in huge crowds of people for the marathon is off putting
After terror incidents like this i do wonder how easy it would be for a terrorist(s) to go to a small village in the sticks and cause utter chaos.
There are a LOT of firearms in the countryside with people that are very good at using them, as miscreants find out every year.
Bearded Asians also tend to be noticed and talked about. Would anyone know or care if Little Spidling disappeared, or its
inhabitants taken hostage?![]()

I know when he said it. But the silly person did say it. But good luck to people in London.
I doubt we just wave them in if they failed security vetting.
Human rights are for everyone if we can just ignore them when we feel fit then they're pointless to have. How do you propose we "up the game tenfold"?
There's probably a higher chance of someone getting run over walking to the post office in your countryside location than it is for someone to get caught up in a terrorist attack in London.
They're playing the long game...give it time.
We can't all share the same view. GD would be rather pointless if we didI cannot share your confidence in the slightest. when we wave in so called children that turn out to be in their twenties, find sypathisers and activists in our midst and they are still here years later at massive cost, and have hate preachers using the streets of the capital to peddle their views is it surprising I have little confidence in how many teeth our government have, or choose to use?
As to how to up the game, just ask Australia, or Mr. Trump. Then await the excuses why it's unfair, illegal, immoral... Like it or not, admit or deny it, we are in the midst of a holy war, a Jihad called by IS and its supporters. Until we treat it as a proper war we will be treated as the meek, apologist, ineffectual, consumerist, drink and drug riddled weaklings we have become.
Seems like some are just content to ignore the problem as the chances of them being killed or affected by terrorism are still quite small when looking at the statistics.

Comparing to the blitz is disingenuous too as Britain was actively in the process of fighting a known enemy, what we see today is random terror with global visibility rather than a conventional war in a bygone era.
