Be wary of doing this, she's a very dangerous woman to be in a position of power. Let's not forget she thinks that Chairman Mao, responsible for an estimated 40-70 million deaths, did "more good than harm".

Well he did, hes improved the GDP per Capita of China by 50 times as much during his tenure, doesn't mean he was a nice man, but his intentions were clearly of a good nature before power struggles costed him dearly. Not only that, but they're building infrastructure all over the world (to their own benefit obviously), while we can barely build our own and only enjoy destroying infrastructure in other nations.

Power makes good men evil, which is why the last ten years of his tenure were utterly reprehensible.

Wasn't he reasonably successful as Mayor of London? It seems overly harsh to put him on the same level of the racist shambles which is Diane Abbott.

As a Londoner i can tell you he was quite a good mayor compared to Mr Sadiq "Haven't i told you i'm a Muslim yet today?" Khan. Who has just sat on his hands and done nothing for this city

Yet he is rumored to be the next Labour leader and future PM???????????

Regardless of the merits or otherwise of what he did atleast he got out there and did some things - unlike most who seem to just sit on their behinds and talk about how busy they are :s our local MP is utterly useless to the point he actually threatens legal action against people who call him out.

Our local conservative candidate is basing his whole campaign on trying to save the local hospital. And people are believing him. :(

still waiting on labour to figure out who to have run here, bets are it wont be a local again. the local labour ***** (and thats being polite) still keep harping on about cuts and the nasty torrie party while forgetting the millions they have blown locally while holding no one to account over a housing scheme. gotta love em.

Ours has won the past two elections with words about how he'll make sure services are restored to the hospital. You'd think people would start to wake up and realise that if he's not pulled it off in 7 years, he probably can't make it happen...

We had a right nasty piece of work stand for Labour last time round. A week or so before the election, a woman in labour was being rushed to hospital in another town. She didn't make it and gave birth at the side of the road, assisted my medics. The Labour candidate literally stated that, had the child died, the local MP should have been considered a murderer for failing to restore maternity services. The entire campaign was farcical, focussing on a sensationalised interpretation of the Tory MP's failings, rather than what the Labour candidate was actually going to do about it.

She's popped up in the national press a few times over the past couple of years, usually laying in to Corbyn with equal vigour.

Edit: I just Googled to find out what she's been up to. She's now a Lib Dem.

the last election labour stuck up local lad (if kents now in lancashire) will straw, yes jack straws son. he tanked thankfully but i get the feeling we'l have another "local" parachuted in.

Ahh, political banter and criticism is all well and good, but here's a thought experiment, chaps: replace Diane and Sadiq with some gormless yet white male non-entity - say Bill Cash and Paul 'Positivity from a Negativity' Nutall - will the same crayons fly out of Scorza and RobbieG's pram? Never, the precious little self-triggers that they are! :D

As if to balance the scales, it's George Osborne's first proper day at the Evening Standard. :p The times we live in, eh!
