Would plugging in all 3 8 pins be detrimental to the performance for non-overclockers? Lets say I already have some custom sleeved cables that I want to show off, the GPU will only pull the voltage needed, correct? So no harm could come of it? Same question for my mobo, it has an 8 pin and a 4 pin for CPU Power, I wanted to plug into the 4 pin aswell, is this fine if I don't intend to extreme overclock? :o

No it would not be detrimental to the performance. It could possibly make the card draw ever so slightly a few extra watts but nothing that would affect performance. The card will only draw as much power as it needs at the set voltage so if you just max out the power slider and don't overclock the card you'll probably sit at around 2Ghz and draw upto 300watts of power on full load at stock volts.
make sure you have at least the 8pin (2x4pins) in the CPU motherboard header. The extra 4 pin if its at the top of the motherboard will most likley be for helping with CPU overclocks though i doubt it would need it unless once again LN2 overclocking. Or it could quite possibly be for the PCI_E lanes to provide more power to 3-4 way cards in SLI/Xfire.

If your not planning on overclocking this card certainly is not you for lol. Even for people with general overclocking in mind this card is overkill and won't guarantee them overclocks better than say for example the Zotac AMP extreme. FOR LN2 Overclockers this card would be way more appealing.

The card probably won't run without all 3 power connectors so yes plug them all in.

As to motherboards it is good practice to connect all the power connectors even if it is not needed, doing this spreads the power delivery and could improve stability/reliability.

so what is the Max OC can we suspect from the 8-pack card, on air/under water(considering EK will make a block for it ???)

MrKitty: from what I understand, the standard HOF is a binned by GPU voltage at a set clock speed. I do not think they bin the vram but i could be wrong.

the 8 pack edition is a UK re-badge of the HOF limited edition and will be the best voltage bin of GPU and VRAM that you can get.

Even if you do not use LN2 the chances are that due to the binning process both cards can be undervolted on Air to run cooler (and with less noise) for day to day perf.

Also need to remember that Palit and Galax have been binning chips for the HOF since launch so we should be optimistic that the HOFs have the best chips that have come through both the Palit and Galax/KFA 1080ti ranges.

Ahhh, I see, excellent, thank you very much for the info.

Now I have two remaining questions, the most important for my lively hood, lol.

If I managed to place a preorder 2 weeks ago am I guaranteed a card at launch? Do they remove the option to preorder once they know they won't have the stock to fulfill? I ask because I read something about some sites will take 84239847823 preorders despite not even knowing what the stock will be, and they are shipped first come first serve. If there isn't enough then the preorder changes to backorder or a refund is issued. I was hoping this isn't the case with Overclockers.Uk? Another reason why I worry is the money has not been drafted from my account yet, is this normal? I know often some places wont charge until the item ships, does this website operate in that manner as well? Thanks for all the help everyone!

contact OCUK customer services by webnote or telephone call to ask them what position you are in the queue and have your order number at hand. They can also confirm that the pre-order is good in terms of whether they needed to charge your card or not.

Gibbo did not say how big the first batch of cards next week will be but at least when he posts up the numbers you will know how likely it is that you will get a card in the first batch.

Based on previous, Bitspower will be making the HOF blocks and there will be no block from EK. My assumption is that because Galax and Bitspower both have Hong Kong offices that they hit the beer together and have a closer working relationship.

Aigt thanks !

not trying to burst your bubble, However am i missing somthing? Is their somthing that makes the HOF that special?

It costs more than other 1080ti's but offers similar boost speed, so pretty much no :p

Only LN2 benchmarkers will benefit from a card like this.

So uhhh. . . . any word on where in Q we are yet and how many of us will have cards ship out on launch? I desperate need a card as its the last part of my build and I am currently using a GT 710 as a place holder lol. If the 8pack edition is more readily available due to the price I may upgrade to a preorder of that one just to ensure I get a card as soon ass possible. Thanks for an help anyone can provide :p

Also, one more question! My motherboard as a 6-pin n the lower left which is alleged to provide additional power to the PCI-e ports. As discussed earlier, no harm could come of it and in fact it is recommended I plug it in even if I am not overclocking. My question is, because it provided power to the PCIe slots I was going to plug in a 6pin PCIE from the PSU. . . . . .when I look at my chart for the motherboard however it says plug in a 6pin ATX cord. . . .which seems to be th esame as CPU PWR and 24 pin PWR? If I understand correctly, they are different connectors. . . . something to do with polarity? at least I know it goes that way for CPU and motherboard. . . so I wonder is ATX a universal term for connecting to a PSU or does it specifically mean the +12/v or whatever specific connection.

God who knew calling out of the country can be could be so damn difficult. Literally everything I read online was wrong, or just doesn't work with Verizon. >:( And I have no other phones available to me in the super early morning since there is a 10 hour difference lol. Alas, I shall find a way!

you don't need a phone - placing a webnote is just as good.

Question, I watched an unboxing video and heard it came with 3 8-pipn to molex adapters. If I have 3 8-pin PCIe to my PSU. . . I can just bypass the molex all together right? It isn't some sort of special pass through molex regulating voltage and such? Sorry this may seem like a stupid question, I just want to ensure I can pop it in and power it as soon as I receive it in the mail, thanks!
