Has anyone had issues when connecting to WiFi hotspots? Instead of a landing page to sign in to the hotspot I get a page cannot be displayed message - thought it might just have been a couple of dodgy ones but seems like all hotspots do this including big ones like the cloud and virgin media etc.

I think it turns itself off of you change any of the security settings, i.e. add a fingerprint or face or change the unlock method.

Battery life continues to get better still, I've been having long work days this week, and with the S7e, eben when it was new, I'd be getting around 15hrs with 2-3 hours screen on time due to the 4G reception and overall harder work the radio has to do. I'd often get home with 20% left by 6PM. Now I'm on over 3hrs SoT and getting home with over 40% remaining at the same time. If this keeps up, and is in-line with what Samsung say about the battery not degrading more than 5% after 2 years, then I'll be well impressed and more likely to keep the S8+ for a full 2 years.

Yes, but I found that sort of DPI distorts certain games (e.g. clash of clans) when they are stretched to full screen, so I had to settle on 375. I also changed all the animation scales to 0.5 to make things feel a bit snappier.

Beginning to wish id gone for the regular s8 now, in fairness ive not really messed with it too much yet so will give it the weekend before I decide wether to go back to it or not, shame as it is really a piece of art

Hmm weird, I'm not a mobile gamer, but I do play Nintendo DS games on it, and that's all fine.

What performance mode are you all generally using?, I'm using high performance mode (got a great screen and want to use it to its full capability). Is it much different when compared to the optimal settings?.

Any good tips for increasing the great battery life even more?.
 
Optimised is the best mode. It actually tells you exactly what each mode does, and the battery hit they take.
 
My sound issues are back which I also had with my S7 for the last couple of months were I get an error on YouTube and my alarm doesn't work. I'm now forever rebooting my phone. Closing open tabs (Facebook messenger) used to cure this but since the update that no longer works.

With a bit more fiddling about I've found 388 works for DPI. As soon as I jump to 389+ the text on clash of clans shrinks massively and the war map is distorted. The few other games I tried were fine but I play this one the most and it'd be a shame not to make use of the full screen. Not a massive mobile gamer but the few other games I've tried are Spiderman and Real Racing 3 which look stunning on full screen on the 8+.

Can someone remind me how to turn off the option whereby when you plug in the headphones, the audio automatically starts up?

I'm glad I went for the S8+ purely for the screen. I use face recognition and the fingerprint sensor so I'm normally in the phone very quickly one way or another.

Also, I think someone mentioned in here that there is a setting which stops you switching the phone off unless you enter PIN/fingerprint etc. How do you enable this?
 
On another note, whatever Samsung have done to optimise the battery is incredible. Just hit 3 hours screen on time at 50% with 1day, 10hrs off charger so far. First day was mostly on data also, this includes about 2 hours of Spotify Bluetooth streaming. Location on battery saving also.

Anyone mind sharing some photos of the alcantara case on a plus?

I'm not sure if it's worth the premium? I'm a few days in with no protection , getting sweaty!

Also, any 'hidden gems on the play store? Some good games not the popular generic stuff?

I've not seen anyone on HUKD who have received their phones say that. Perhaps the reviews are from people who bought the phone from a third party on Amazon.it?
