Did Michael Jackson really have a skin condition that made him white?

What is the condition and is it genetic? If it is, why do none of his relatives have it? Also why did we never see it during his younger days?

there is no way he had any skin condition. he was proper black when he was a kid. then magically when he hits adult age he starts to get lighter and lighter.

probably bleaching products to begin with then as he gained more wealth it was proper medical procedures. he was a compulsive liar. they aren't his kids. he never had a skin condition. and he slept with kids blaming it on his father for not giving him a childhood so he was a kid himself. load of rubbish. why did we never see him with models, etc all the time. any other singer with that kind of money has women throwing themselves at them. his sham marriage(s) were also lies for PR reasons.

just because he paid them off and was never convicted it's okay

he did have a skin condition, this has been documented, though no one is claiming he didn't also engage in bleaching or that his skin condition was completely to blame for this (rather it might have been the motivation for him to try bleaching or it might have been triggered by the bleaching(?))

oh this magical skin condition which only appears after 20 years?

i can't see the picture above but i reckon i know who it is from comments. she has been like that since birth. jackson was completely black for his first couple of decades on the planet.

it doesn't have to occur at birth:

About half show the disorder before age 20 and most develop it before age 40.

i don't believe he had it. it comes in patches. his whole body got whiter and whiter every time we saw him. after being black for so long.

his family or PR people probably paid the doctor off to say he had it. or the treatment he received effectively removed the pigmentation effectively making him look like he had it. false positive.

i've seen people with this and usually just random patches. he faked he had it to stop people from judging him.

his whole body got whiter and whiter because he used skin bleaching cream - that he did that doesn't mean he didn't also have this condition

What cream is this?

he reportedly was using this:

when he started looked like this:

but he's also claimed he used makeup and frankly given his interest in cosmetic surgery/changing his appearance he perhaps used other things too

I don't think skin bleaching cream would even get rid of the patches. White people get this condition too and it's still visible on them. It doesn't create an even pigment on it's own.

In amongst killing Queen Wasps for a living, my dad actually has vitiligo. It started in his early 50's and affected his hands and about halfway up his lower arms
Despite the fact that I'd classify him as white (although we have not too distant Mediterranean heritage so are a bit brown), it looks pretty horrible when he begins to tan
If MJ did have this, I wouldn't blame him for either trying to cover it up and/or using it as an excuse to whiten up a bit, if he so desired
Interesting there could be a genetic component...I can't wait
