*** WWDC 2017 : 5th - 9th June ***

I'm going to have to wait and be convinced on the HomePod, as it strikes me as though Apple are playing catch up when really they should have rolled something out when Home Kit was introduced.

I like that they are working on making it a high quality speaker and the ability to use two for stereo is commendable. It's also great that it has Apple Music and their eco-system. What I'm not sold on is the "processing" they attempted to demo, as a good set of speakers should create a great sound stage and lots of processing can tend to be pretty gimmicky and sometimes detracts from how it should sound, so it will be interesting to see how that turns out.

The other issues are that it's still six months away from being released in a limited number of markets, plus Apple's Home Kit has floundered with it's proprietary chip requirements than that of Amazon and Google. I've already invested in Amazon now, so they are going to have to convince me to switch and pay the premium for accessories like plug sockets that will work with it.

I am so excited, wait I am so excited... they do seem to be so excited about every little feature. It reminds me of a cartoon I once saw with a man sitting under a tree, the next clip is the tree being cut down and the final clip is him buying a wooden shelter to protect him from the shade. The words "Capitalism" was above the cartoon. Apple must be one of the very few companies that can sell you water in a clear plastic bottle one year then come back the next a say we have the best water ever in the world and we have taken this to new levels, it now comes in a rose pink plastic bottle and somehow convince you the water is better.

The more I sit back and reflect the more I realize that we have become slaves to the digital world, the very thing that is hyped to set us free has become a weight around our necks as we try in vain to stay afloat.

Now, the new iPad does look nice and have been waiting to see which way I go to upgrade from my old broken and cracked screen iPad! Will I upgrade to the version? Not sure!

Ordered a new iPad Pro 12.9" and the sexy leather sleeve.

Looking forward to what the rest of the week brings in terms of new APIs.

The cost of getting an i7 into a 27" iMac is eye watering. £200 extra to go from low spec to mid spec and then another £270 to go from i5 to i7.

Ouch.

Yeah due to brexit (slow clap) and the UK in general, apple products are mental priced now, I mean, they were before...... but now they are only for the very rich again, bonkers bonkers bonkers.

If I won a million id switch to an apple line up - but I'm not made of mental money so I'll have to make do.

I hope the screen recording in iOS 11 is universal and can record anything on screen including video such as from iPlayer. Although they will probably have a disable option which devs can use.

Does anyone know if the employee purchase thing still works with apple?

Really tempted by the 12.9" but... I am sure i'd use the 10.5 more often!
Also going to get a macbook with an i7. Finally it should be a fairly capable little thing.

Feeling the need to upgrade my current iMac to a 5k one. Now where's that 0% credit card gone ........

I'm not made of mental money but I did save up for a while to buy my products. My MacBook Air still going strong from 2011. Work that cost out over 6 years it's fantastic price!

I'm the same my MacBook Pro is just over 2 years old and its still like new, should have at least another 3 years left in it minimum. At the point its becomes useful as you can just chuck it in a bag and not worry if it gets damaged , stolen etc.

My only concern with iPads it hey do suffer from horrific slow down when various updates come out.

I'd expect the developers to have control, as I've had a few screenshots of apps come up black before and each time it refused to capture the screen.

Am I correct in thinking that ordering via Higher Education no longer has a 3 year warranty and you do need to buy AppleCare for that now? My last Macbook Air was bought via HE and came with 3 year cover but that was in 2013!

Haven't had a slowdown yet from any of my devices so I dunno then :)
