Can someone shed some light on why Newcastle can count their votes in about an hour, but Kensington are coming upto 12 hours and still haven't counted. Did their counters all go home at 10pm last night?

On the BBC site it says they've had two recounts and are looking at having a third, but everyone is too tired so the officer in charge sent them home until later or tomorrow.

id accept a new good tory leader with a less harsh brexit plan

It's 40% vs 42% of the vote so a clear swing towards Labour so I don't see problem with them saying that, but it's not possible anyway so it doesn't really matter.

.
As far as I understand it, it is still possible for them to form a minority, if Tories didn't want to try. The chance of that happening is zero.

I think May will try and hold on and get nowhere, they are so ideologically opposed to everyone else, and then we wiill be back at the polls in 6 months or so when no one gets anything done. Just cant see co-operation like the Tory/LD coalition.

Shouldn't a separate team of counters come in for a 3rd recount? I appreciate it's tiring work and they've been up all night, but no reason to transfer the count to another team of counters.

With more time to prepare and campaign it could have been even worse for her.

Not how it works though is it, plus they have an 800k vote deficit.

So Labour LOSE the election and corbyn fist pumps the air waving at the crowd like hes won it :p:p:p:D
Labour's for the snap election was to put in a solid performance, do better than Miliband, show people Corbyn could win an election in the future and try to reduce the Tory majority (a success on all counts). Winning a snap election nobody expected with a newish leader was never on the cards hence why May called it.

Oh dear what have you Labour lot done now, worst possible outcome. Indecision or alike due to pro Europe MP's hampering a good deal is really going to hurt this country.

Just listening to labour claim they have won on Rad

The north east gets a massive wide on for getting their votes counted quickly. It's the only thing it ever shines at so they crack on and then show off about it despite it being utterly trivial.

Don't blame the voters, blame the stupid cow in charge of calling the election.

Yep, so much for strong and stable. :D

Noises from DUP are informal agreement with cons. Don't forget also the likes of Ken Clarke and the Scottish conservatives who along with the DUP have stated they want single market access. Regardless of a tiny majority, those players alone make hard brexit near impossible (thank god)

PM must quit, DUP / Tory coalition, BoJo new PM and second election if the govt isn't able to function with such a small minority.

Labour need to decide whether people actually like Corbyn or just don't like May - replace Corbyn if they want a chance at power or keep if happy to be in opposition.

Luckily 'the people' have effectively voted in favour of brexit again...

Scottish eggxit off table, Sturgeon slapped down and Salmond 'sacked' lol.

I'm just glad Corbyn will never now be PM - phew.....

No one cares. The country is already going to be massively hurt because of brexit so there was nothing to lose for people who voted remain.

How exactly is this the fault of Labour voters?.

Or let me guess, anybody voting differently to you is "hurting the country". Who do you think proposed this election? - who do you think called the referendum?.

Take some damn responsibility.

While watching the live coverage, as results were being declared at the counts, the BBC were sometimes showing the graphic with the vote totals before they had been read out.

Were these sometimes on a delay or are the news outlets briefed of the totals before they are "declared"?

I can see our Countries poor productivity record getting even worse today.....just trying to keep up with this thread means I'm not going to get anything done today :p
