What Ive taken away from this election
  • The young turned out in numbers which helped Labour. If this is anything to go by... As the older population begins to diminish in numbers... Labours is likely to grow. It was on the BBC somewhere that it was 65% Labour, 25% tories and 10% minor parties between 18-25 year olds

The population is ageing hence the pension affordability issues.

Thoughts on Ruth Davidson as leader? She is a strong character, very likeable and has been successful in Scotland. Arguably a good leader to bring everyone together.
She's not an MP

This tweet hasn't aged well:

John Cleese said:
People are asking me how I shall vote. I shan't. I live in Chelsea and Kensington, so under our present system my vote is utterly worthless
Currently 36 votes between Labour and Tories in Kensington and Chelsea. Why do people listen to celebrities lol.

That's assuming they finish and they're able to get a high paying job afterwards, lots of competition in the market.

For many it's such a commitment financially it's enough to put them off completely.
That's a good thing, if somebody doesn't think it's worth paying because they will prob fail/drop out or their chosen career isn't worth it then why should the taxpayer be forced to pay for it?

lol Junker's staying classy, "before the negotiations can be extended they have to begin"

This is an epic cluster **** for May, she should take one for the team

But according to every commentator I have heard in recent months the older population are increasing in numbers, are we not the cause of all the NHS problems? I am sure everyone and their mother is saying this.

Is Sturgeon quitting now? She may have 'won' but its pretty clear she is responsible for wrecking the SNP's number of seats.

BoJo for PM.

''The Conservative Party has reassured Britain that the government being propped up by swivel-eyed, religious lunatics will be ‘totally fine’.

Ulster’s Democratic Unionist Party was founded in 1971 by the late Ian Paisley while he was stabbing an Action Man he had dressed up as Pope Paul VI.

It is now looking forward to influencing government policy in a wide range of demented areas.

DUP leader Arlene Foster confirmed the party would support a minority Conservative government on condition that Theresa May stands on a massive orange Bible and denounces Roman Catholicism as ‘Beelzebub’s Travelling Circus’.

She added: “Obviously we’ll also be needing a wee ban on abortion, the gayness, scientists and strong liquor.”

A Downing Street spokesman said: “Its very important we have a strong and stable government. But it’s okay if it’s also a tiny bit insane.”

I know we all like to knock these outlier degrees that on the face of it seem pretty pointless, but that does undermine the point of University Education. It's not just about the knowledge you learn - hell a lot of people never use the subject they study - but it teaches critical thinking and shows you have a certain level of intelligence and attainment.

Oh believe me I know, whenever I have to interview people they are always shocked that I consider a degree between an A level and a GNVQ in value, and vastly inferior to something like a Microsoft/Cisco/CompTIA certification XD

Exactly, the root cause here is that we have an ageing population and that young people don't want to pay to care for them.

Labours manifesto was like giving a credit card to a teen.

that makes no sense. If the young don't want to pay for them then surely they would vote COnserative, it was May after all that wanted to do a smash and grab raid on the old folks houses to make them pay for their own care ?
