I'm glad the rest of you guys have picked up on what I was saying about the DUP from the early hours once they were in the running.

The media and public will completely destroy the conservatives if it happens, not to mention massive unrest in NI

It's desperate stuff from TM. I can't see any government lasting more than a few months. It's less than pointless starting Brexit negotiations now. The two years will be up before we've even started, and we'll be cap in hand to the EU asking for a very long extension. The very same people TM and the Brexiteers have spent the last year rubbing up the wrong way.

The conservative party are completely to blame. They called the EU referendum, they called the early election, and now they are incapable of leading this country out of a paper bag.

Strong and stable my... We are a laughing stock, and the economy uncertainty continues.. for how long nobody knows.

How would PR work for us though? We're constituency based. PR would surely mean that there would be no relation between constituency and representative?

Scrap constituencies, they are archaic and were created for a time before Party politics existed. At the same time take the opportunity to build a new Parliament building outside of London that is fit for purpose, secure and spacious with good communication links to the rest of the country and not the crumbling stuffy Victorian pile we are forced to use now that really is only fit to be a museum.

not at all, you can still have it for the vast majority of people, you slot people in with the highest lead. You might end up where the second place which is narrowly behind ends up in that constitution, but its still far more representative and you still keep local mps.
There is an issue with the 'rounding errors'. You might (maybe not so much now, but in the past) get a BNP candidate or two. Who want them as their representative?!

(still in favour of PR, just there is a possible issue)

Yeah, I sort of get the impression that TM is just going to put her fingers in her ears, go direct to the palace and try to solider on through it, some people might argue that Corbyn did the same when he lost the vote of no confidence, but in my eyes the GE result vindicates that - and puts him in a much stronger position, especially now as the Tories might have to rely on an embarrassing bunch of rednecks like the DUP, a later GE might see a Labour majority.

Looks likely especially after what she said last night (she looked broken tbh).

Heard some comments on BBC earlier about how if Corbyn forgives and puts out a hand to the more centrist party members then he could have a far more popular cabinet who would now support him following the results. However while they thought Jeremy could do it his hard left entourage would stop it but if he did that I think they could win if the election was held again.

Not sure who would replace May though, no-one comes to mind as a strong leader.

Correct. Wouldn't be possible to get rid of MPs like Salmond, Clegg, Portillo etc because senior politicians would always be at the top of their party's lists.

Anyone else find it ironic that after 9 weeks of flaming Corbyn for being a chatter to Terrorists we now have a government with the DUP ?

It's pretty irresponsible to light the fuse on Article 50 before calling an election. Knowing that we only have 2 years

same places as before, the places with the highest votes. it still works for the vast majority and even the ones it doesn't work properly for, they are still the ones with the highest vote. It keeps local mps you can talk with and implements PR. No system will be 100% perfect, but that would be far better.

I suspect Scorza must have me on ignore after I called him out on his lies about the police running away during the Terrorist attack which he has never apologized for and feeble said he read it in the Observer (which I cannot find any mention of that via googling)
