Xbox Scorpio

Also I think the xbox controller (imo) is way better than ps4, I've had every Sony console yet still cant get used to it, I got a xbox one controller for my pc and it just sits perfectly in hands, the thumbsticks on the dual shock feel as if they are in a unnatural position

I must admit i used to be in the ewww its just a fat controller for fat hands brigade but the Elite Controller is a thing of beauty and a joy to use. (The standard one is ok i guess.) Although one of my favourite pads ever would be the N64 one even of the right side of it was pretty much useless. :D :p

Too expensive and majority of the games are multiplat anyway.

Is 4k really worth all that extra money?

Yes 4K is stunning. It will still look pretty great on the Scorpio as 4K on any setting is nice and crisp.

But personally, I've always preferred higher refresh rate myself.

I agree about the controller, too. The DS4 is a vast improvement over the DS3 but still doesn't feel quite right in my hands.

Anyhoo, does this mean from this point on that Sony can't (or shouldn't) use the "world's most powerful console" badge in their marketing?

Truthfully it wouldn't be too far off. Rx480, cheap i3/i5 etc.

But yes agreed for what it offers it is great value for money.

Plus a case, RAM, motherboard, hard drive(s), OS, monitor, keyboard, mouse. No where near! Considering folk are saying if it was £50 cheaper they would get one, a PC being even £200 more expensive is Okay?

Sony will have to scrap the "world's" and replace it with "Sony's" most powerful console.

Xbox controller and 4K Tv? Which is what I was implying. You don't have to have a monitor.

What about monthly membership and more expensive games?

As for expense.
Gpu (£250), mobo, CPU, RAM (£150) PSU, case and hdd? (£100-120) Can get OS for £10.

Which totals around £500-550.

Now like I said the Scorpio IS decent value. I didn't doubt that.

After looking on Wikipedia for sales infor it was nice to see AMD powering these devices. :) Did they mention anything about VR on the X yesterday?

One other thing i noticed was the complete removal of the Scorpio moniker.

Nope, VR has taken a back seat. MS removed VR from their blueprint for the Xbox One X a few months back.

I say they still have until Nov 7th.

I'll be getting the OneX. Won't pre-order. Will see what bundles etc are available closer to launch/Xmas

Will be pre-ordering to replace my Xbox One (launch model) downstairs. Can't see the point in replacing my 2nd one upstairs due to the amount of use it sees (did the same when I purchased my PS4 pro).

I'm very happy with price of £450, will pre order once available.

this console aimed at myself who spent £120 on elite Pad, just want something thats true 4k on OLED screen :D

I expect to see 1440p/1800p upscaled or 2160p checkerboard on PS4 Pro and native 2160p on Xbone X for multiplatform games, or if they are both 4K, then 30fps on PS4 Pro and 60fps on Xbone X. Of course, with the resolution it probably will be hard to see a difference. But it all depends on whether the devs make extra efforts or not. With the extra memory, the Xbone X should have better looking textures. e.g. Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4 Pro cannot use 4K assets as there isn't the memory.

Reading the reaction to that post i feel a lot of people are going to be a bit disappointed with the XBone X. Yes it's a bit more powerful but firstly it's entirely down the the developers to patch it and secondly the difference will minor improvements in frame rates and/or resolution.

If it's £499, I'm out.

I'm worried that there might not be any bundles, pspro didn't get any on release. Sales were driven by "the most powerful console":/

System level 16af will be applied to all unpatched games

Stable FPS

game using dynamic resolution scaling will be 1080P

The increase in RAM will be more beneficial if you ask me. 4k res is pointless without 4k textures. This is where Pro struggles as it runs out of RAM. The extra 4GB in X will hopefully see higher res textures being used for the X versions.

That's nice but it's not going to be the 4k monster many are thinking it's going to be. Sure it might get close with many of the exclusives, but most Mult-plat games with be on par with ps4 pro or slight improvements if anything. I think people are getting carried away with the Forza 6 port they did onto the scorpio.

In the end i'm getting one anyway as i usually get both and i prefer the black/dark grey case of this one over the white Xbone S case :p
