They dont use XP, they use a version of windows 2000 dubbed "Windows for Warships"
Apparently they ditched that as well.

The Register has run loads of stories over the years about the fact UK warships run a specialised version of Windows.
As to the drone carriers. BAE System floated a concept a few years ago about a version of the Type 45 with small decks for launching and recovering drones.

Make em amphibious and retrieve from the sea on landing.
Ransomware can't encrypt valvesWe're far more likely to hack the Russians than vice versa

How would you even hack a ship, surely all their communication goes through a secure military intranet?
A lot of their attack and defence systems connect with other ships, aircraft and equipment so they share data with each other.
They've demonstrated how you can eg. put software on USB charged vape pens, so someone could innocently plug in one of them to charge and then the computer doesn't necessarily need internet access for things to go wrong. Like how stuxnet got into the uranium processing areas and screwed with the centrifuges. So they could still do harm without internet access.

Not really, but thanks for the info.So she's due into Portsmouth by the 22nd August, some sources state between 17th - 22nd.
Have just read that she's returned to Invergordon, so I'm not sure if this will delay her arrival into Pompey. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-40887369
However, what I was wondering was where would be the best place(s) to get a glimpse of her as she enters? Any OcUK members with local knowledge or been for other vessels enter/leaving Portsmouth?
Thanks
