Great shots. Been thinking about getting PTA but wasn't too pleased that it's now payware. The colours to my eyes don't seem realistic as it seems to be too saturated but I wonder if this can be easily modified.
I'd not even heard of PTA before last week! from what I understand the original developer didn't want to continue with it and so sold the code to Matt Davies? so I guess it's only fair that he recoups some of his outlay. The preset I used s the latest one from Thopat but from what I understand the settings can be customised infinitely

Jumped into the phatom, had no idea how to chage view, pressed c and then x and view moved back, I pressed X on 360 controller and the plane went full power and moved foward, camera stayed where it was, went 1/4 down the runway then the game crashed lolz

For anybody using Realair addons in P3D v4, the developer responsible for the sound .dll has updated it to work in 64 bits now.

This will restore the cockpit switch and other lost sounds from the Realair addons in v4.

http://www.douglassdawson.ca/files/dsd_p3d_xml_sound_x64_gauge_only.zip

Blurb quote:

The Doug Dawson sound gauge has been released for P3Dv4.

I have a copy and it is attached.

This is the new Doug Dawson 64 bit sound gauge for P3Dv4 ONLY.

If your aircraft is installed into FSX, FSX-SE or P3D v1, v2 or v3,
you should NOT use this gauge.

It works as a direct replacement for the 32 bit gauge, so just rename it to

whatever the developer used, but do not change the .dll extension.

Replace the existing 32 bit version and you will have all your sounds back.

For example, the freeware Manfred Jahn C47 uses C47_dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau.

Rename the new gauge to C47_dsd_fsx_xml_sound.dll

Once renamed, copy it into the panel folder and delete C47_dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau

If you don't have the aircraft, you should, it is pretty much the definitive

version of this iconic aircraft and has features seen only at the very top

end of payware models.

You can fix the Real Air Duke the same way, rename the gauge to

RASduke_Sound.dll and put it in the P3D gauges folder.

If it is there, delete RASduke_Sound.gau

Anything you might have that uses the DSD_FSX_XML_Sound.gau,

rename the new 64 bit version to DSD_FSX_XML_Sound.dll, delete the original gauge and

put it in your gauges folder.

There are many many aircraft, freeware and payware that use this gauge for sounds and this

method will work for all of them that are compatible with P3Dv4.

Please note: This has nothing to do with the engine sounds but everything to do with switches that click and

other sound effects that developers may have added to their aircraft models.

As it's been sooo long since I installed the Duke V2 in FSX and unfortunately RA are no more I can't remember if the Duke is sim specific or not. I've just purchased P3dv4 and I don't want to balls it up! :o can anyone advise?

You should still be able to download the latest Duke v2 installer from your Realair account, just point the installer to the P3D v4 folder. Swap the gauge, and remember the gear fix text change in the aircraft.cfg or one of the landing gear doesn't deploy properly.

It would appear that the Turbine Duke V2 is Sim specific and therefore I have the FSX version :( disappointing that they've gone out of business I'd have happily bought that again. Any suggestions for a P3dv4 replacement?

I shall take a look, is it on a par with the RA for "realism"

It's not quite on par with RealAir, but its snapping very closely at their heels.

It also supports virutal cockpit intergration of the Flight1 GTN 750 and Milviz's own weather radar addon - both of which should be v4 compatible soon.

The Milviz Baron is a complete GA twin package for me.

If you're looking for a GA twin outside of RealAir (or v4 compatible) then IMO its the best currently available. I don't really go in for the Carenado and Alabeo stuff, they look very nice but thats about it.

I believe A2A are working on a twin at the moment (Cessna 310 if I remember correctly), no idea when that will be out though; but when it does it will likely instantly be the best GA twin available for v4.

edit: A2A are working on the Piper Aerostar, not the C310.
