*** Nintendo Switch ***

MK8D is great locally. I have 2 sets of joy cons so we can play 4 player. Surprising decent little controllers for stuff like Mario Kart.

Yeah it will be nice to have a few mates over for a quick game. Shame none have got a switch themselves.

One thing i've seen in the adverts is multiple people playing on the tablet screen. I really can't imagine 2+ people playing on the 7" screen in games like Mario kart lol. Must be so hard to see

You might have the Wi-Fi issue in that case. What range does your right joy con work at when behind your back?

It should work at least 5 metres away.

The joys seems fines my first 2 switch's had issues, how can away form the route does your switch work?

So I ordered my Switch a while back on the rainforest while a little tipsy, half forgot as it was months ago, and now have an email saying it'll be here tomorrow with Pro pad, Arms and Zelda. Damn you Nintendo, it was always just a matter of time ...

Quite excited :D

Accessory prices don't half sting...just got another pair of joy cons so I can take it round a mates house tomorrow for some 4 player Mario kart, 90 EUR!

Been (drunkenly) buying switch accessories as per recommended in the last few pages of this thread. Managed to order a splatoon 2 bundled switch from the rainforest that is arriving tomorrow.

Have ordered the following

Ozrly tempered glass protector
Ozrly screen cover tablet stand
Ozrly flexicase 4 pack for joycons
Sandisk 200gb uhs1 micro SD card
Zelda botw (want 1 cart, rest I will buy digital)

Is there any other essentials I have missed in anybody's opinion ?

Also, what are the expectations from the digital store front, from historical Nintendo games? Will there or are there already SNES \ n64 \ GC games available ?

Apologies, I understand answers may be already available somewhere on this thread......but its a big thread.

And I'm in Lanzarote 'half-canned' right now.

Thanks in advance

There are no old Nintendo games available yet though we do expect it to come later.

Accessories wise I know it's pricey but the pro controller is lovely.

Last night I spent over an hour playing the demo of Puyo Puyo Tetris. It's damn good! I think I'm going to buy it, it's £26 until tomorrow on the Nintendo store.

I picked up Puyo Tetris on sale and have been enjoying it so far .......despite getting absolutely destroyed by the cpu , hoping someone can confirm it's difficult and I'm not that bad :p

In mariokart can i create a custom lobby? For example, i want to play with say 4 strangers but i also want to invite my friend who is at home, etc..

Mine has been gathering dust - takes a lot to make me game these days. Waiting for the next thing of 10/10 standard.... anything else seems a waste.

I know I am a minority, but the Pro Controller holds no interest to me. Having played 130+ hours on Zelda with the Joy-Con I just cannot imagine having done it with the Pro.
I guess it depends on what you are used to - for me it is simply a case that I cannot be dealing with a 'controller' that has me keeping my hands close together, I much prefer the freedom of a stick in each hand spread comfortably apart (maybe it is because at my core I am a PC gamer so am used to having my hands freely spread).

Certainly if you like a controller grip I can see why people would want the Pro. The weird grip thing for the joycon does not look too comfy.

Talking of being a minority, when looking for best local multiplayer games, I would still go Bomberman over Mariokart almost everytime - might just be the type of friends I have but it seems to cause so many more laughs

Bomberman is nice for non-gamers as it takes a lot less skill to enjoy the game. Snipperclips has also been popular amongst my friends, and I am looking forward to overcooked.

I find the pro controller is very important for any game relying on the dpad such as Shovel Knight, and for when Nintendo make typically idiotic decisions such as not allowing you to choose button controls for ARMS if you are using separated joy cons.

For any game with motion controls the separate joy cons are a lot better, and they will give a huge advantage on Splatoon.
