Charles parents did everything they could. Charlie can be proud of them and they can be proud of themselves.

They should be ashamed of themselves actually, for dragging this whole thing out and turning it into a world spectacle. The idiot father called one of the GOSH lawyers "evil" in court

After what that GOSH lawyer did to them by giving them medical results, essentially crushing what ever hope they may have had left that their 11 month old baby may have lived any kind of a life, in a court room without privacy and time to reflect of the results? Yeah I'd be calling them evil too.

Personally I wish them all the best, they did nothing I would not have done for my little boy. I just hope they're allowed to take him home before he passes.

I tried to make the point earlier, but made it badly.

It's surely possible that the parents were offered up the results before the court hearing but didn't want to listen?

They still deserved better than that. Just look at the pictures of them now and 6 months ago, this thing has nearly killed them, they just did what most parents would do and fight for any chance there might have been. Some people still value life, any life, over death. I'm not sure I'm one of them but I respect the views of those that are. There are lots of people who would be dead if they weren't kept alive today through medicine that didn't exist, wasn't tested etc etc who contribute greatly to our society. I can respect people who don't want to give up.

I just hope they can start piecing their life back together, feel no guilt as they left no stone unturned in trying to get their boy help, and start the process of getting on with life.

This is almost certain. The judge would have ripped GOSH's counsel a new one for revealing the bad news to the family in a public court and immediately adjourned the hearing.

Better than what?
When people don't listen you have to tell the judge who is making the decision. You can't run away from facts and evidence in court. The remains of the child and its best are being discussed, not the feelings of the parents.
Did you read the bit where the US doctor stated what his actual position was?
This was the guy who has been feeding false hope since $$ where mentioned.
That is where they deserved better, not with our NHS, not with our legal process, not with their own delusions.

I think they were used by people with an agenda and it spiralled from that point, I can't blame them for clinging to hope initially though.

The right decision for all concerned sadly.

The parents need to get out of this mindset that if only they'd had the treatment earlier they'd have had a chance of a 'normal healthy boy' like they were claiming after court. There's no magic pot of drugs on the other side of the Atlantic which would have ever made that a possibility, at best it was minuscule chance of prolonging his life. Having that mindset is just going to eat them up even more than this whole court ordeal has.

Finally, this poor child can end his suffering with the dignified death his parents have been denying him for so long.

There was never any chance. His parents knew that. The best case scenario was that the experiment might have slowed down muscle loss to some extent and thus might have made him die more slowly. One person, who would have gained money from the experiment, said that it might do that much, maybe. There was never any chance that he would "contribute greatly to our society" or survive at all other than as part of a life support machine with it not even being certain that he was alive in any meaningful sense (given the amount of brain damage). It was also unknown how much he was suffering while his parents fought to keep him that way. Hopefully he was effectively dead months ago because otherwise his suffering has been prolonged far more than it should have been.

People who have a child die are usually very badly affected by it. That doesn't make it right to prolong the child's dying without any chance of them surviving let alone being even partially cured.

Experimental treatments that have any chance of being any even partially effective solution are a different matter entirely. By chance, both my parents have benefitted from that (one from experimental drugs, one from experimental surgery).

His child is going to die because he was denied life saving treatment for political reasons, of course he thinks the lawyers of the hospital responsible for his death are evil >.>

Thats probably the same attitude the morons had who were throwing the abuse at GOSH.

Correct me if im wrong, isnt his condition terminal?

Context is important, a terminal condition means it will kill but that doesn't mean it cannot be treated, I.E cancer is a terminal condition however it can be treated via chemo, radio, etc and it's possible for a recovery to be made.

Charlie had the chance to be taken to the USA for treatment which potentially could have allowed him to make a recovery but that ship has sailed because the hospital/courts dragged everything out for so long due to politics.
