Guess that one went over your head. Apple have done the retarded thing of naming their API the same as an existing Windows one (albeit one that hasn't been updated in years).

This has been asked of me a few times now and each time I've answered. Have a look around the web.

My criteria are: 1ms response, 27", 144hz Gsync/Freesync. £500-600.

Your find monitors from both camps that meet those criteria.

Out of interest why are you looking at £500 to £600 when you get get them for £300-£400 fine.

Below is a quick overview

1080p Freesync
iiyama - £300
Acer - £340
Samsung - £350

1440p Freesync
Acer - £360

1440p Gsync
AOC - 165Hz £420
ACER - 165Hz £500
Asus - 165Hz £630

So I would say it comes down to more if you want to pay extra for going from 144Hz to 165Hz at a minimum of £60 premium but either way they are much more available below your £500 outlined previous.

No reason in particular. It was just what I thought was my budget.

The liquid-cooled RX Vega 64 has a TDP of 350W, so a dual GPU card would likely draw at least 600W

Worth noting the last ARES card ASUS made (ARES III) came with an EK waterblock as standard (it's predecessor had used a dual GPU AIO).

My Eizo FS2735 27" 1440p FreeSync monitor cost me £773.60...
 
Which has better thermals
- 2x cards
- 2x chips on a single card

Depends what you mean by thermals, the dual chip card doesn't double up as much on components as two cards and so adds less heat to the case due to lower power draw. But if you're watercooling anyway it's mainly space constraints of two cards you would be concerned with.
