Got my T-55A a few days ago eventually!
Now I just need to push for the Object 260.
There are several Obj 260 missions which make the normal player scream and unfortunately mean most will never own one.
I have completed all light missions and I am on the final Med, SPG missions and several still to do for heavy tanks....one day rodders

I have just started them, I feel the lights should be pretty ok as I have the 13/57 and blackdog to help. The heavy and TD missions will just take a bit of time as I have a lot of experience in them. Mediums shouldn't be so bad either really.
I was finished all but one mission for the T-55A as of last October or so, just that final light tank mission with honours I couldn't finish. I got really close (6800-6900 combined) a handful of times but just couldn't get that extra little bit.

Not a huge amount different from the EU I'm afraid.

The last one I did with the SU-152 and it's mighty 152mm. 3 good hits with that thing can get close to 4x it's hp!
I've yet to hear anyone say they are surrounded by experienced players on any server.
For the same reason I'm not keen on saying things are any different vs any previous point in time in wot.
Start several tech trees from several nations which cover TDs, lights, mediums, heavies and arties. It's the most efficient way to benefit from the daily xp bonus and it opens up many options if you decide to stick with the game in the long term.
If anyone has Cro, Cz or Pl in their names you cannot rely on them. Do not expect them to hold your flank or watch your back.
Wot use to do new player codes where you got a free premium tank, boosters and some gold. If you want to pay something to play the cheapest and best is to get a premium account. Accelerates progression through more XP and credits.
When you die, which you will. Don't always rage rush back to the garage, but instead switch and watch a better player to see how they play.
Alternatively watch someone like Quickybaby on Youtube, he's actually pretty good at explaining game mechanics.
Also finally scraped through the longstanding MT-15 for T28 so that's all those missions out the way. Decent progress with T-55A missions too so need to put a little effort into that and invest in some tanks to make latter missions easier.

Watched a couple of his vids. How do most people tend to unlock the medium and heavy tanks or are you best starting in lights and upgrading?
You can unlock anything you want from a respective Nation tree so long as it's in sequential order, i.e. tier 2 to 3 and so on. Some lines will allow you to branch out onto more than one tank, from a Russian tree for example, the T-34 at tier 5 can lead onto light, medium and eventually heavy lines. It's really as simple as opening a tech tree in the game and then looking where the arrow points.
T5 is when tanks start to get more balanced as to be fair below that some tanks are horribly mismatched in terms of their capabilities. That and there are the professional seal clubbers operating at those levels who will make short work of you while you learn the mechanics.
Managed to get the FV215b today, so all set for when (if) they replace it with the Super Conqueror. Back to being short on credits again for now. FV215b has a couple of fairly annoying weakspots so I'm looking forward to getting punnished by everyone for that.
