So Bran = Night King could be strong IMO

The Prince that was promised is still a little vague. But, how about the point that Dany can't have kids and the talk about successor leads me to beleive that Jon and Dany will have a son near the end. King (of the north) and Queen have a son = Prince who will be the only remaining heir once everyone else of relative importance has died. Then turns out Sam has written the whole saga down and backs the Prince to lead a new era. Or some tosh like that.

The Ice-Dragon, wouldn't surprise me if that ended up under Jon's "command" at somepoint. Maybe after light-witch lady brings it back, maybe not. Or Perhaps even Bran Wargs it?

Sansa & Arya and their petty sibling squabbling is tiresome. Arya needs to take LF's face and pretend to be him to keep the Vale lot in control. But i feel LF needs to do something soon, and by that i mean other than pitting sisters together.

Someone gonna die in the meet.

Either way. I just want this over with, it's just all slapped together and rushed now and it's bugging me.

I haven't had any problems with the story progressing quicker this season, but the last episode was a bit silly really. The way it was shown, made it seem like they had only been at the lake for a few hours. I know they showed both night and day time, but surely it would have taken longer for everything to happen. Could definitely have been done a lot better.

The director (Alan Taylor) spoke to Variety yesterday and admitted they are fully aware that they are "fudging the timeline" (his words) and straining plausibility and don't particularly care because (and I quote) "if the show was struggling we would be worried about those concerns, but the show seems to be doing pretty well so..." #paymefemaledog #wedontgiveafudge #firstworldproblems

Lol. Just... lol.

Would love Bran to warg into the ice dragon to help fight the night king. The night king to be defeated but the ice dragon to be killed in the process only to be risen again as Viserion in a final self sacrifice for Melisandre, so then all three dragons can fly off and help win Jon the final climactic battle for the iron throne. However, I feel that's all a bit schmoozy and too Hollywood for GOT.

Brans got something to do with the creation of the night king, but I don't feel he is him. In the books maybe where there's so much time to develop, I just feel it's a bit convoluted for the tv show.

It will all end with typical pre-nuclear family happy end - the "not tall enough" kid who knew nothing, his fit aunt and their two point four dragon kids.

In the books, there's theories that there must always be a Knight King beyond the wall, and that a pact was made between the first men, the children and the walkers. It's theorised that the walkers themselves created the wall with the help of the children as part of this very pact, to separate land for each to have and rule over. I'm skipping over enormous chunks of lore here like the 13th lord commander etc. but I'm too tired xD

I still love the plot twists, characters and acting. But they are being overwhelmed by a total loss of credibility. Yes it's a fantasy world, but it still needs to stay plausible and obey some basic rules about distance, travel speed and ease of navigation, or the whole thing falls apart at the seams. The teleporting was bad enough in other episodes this season, with fleets and boats warping around seas, but you could suspend a bit of disbelief for that in the name of moving the plot along. But this week it crossed firmly into a whole new realm of WTF stupid. They might as well just install some magic portals (that great fantasy stalwart) and have done with it.

Keep hearing this again and again. Which fleets warped around?! Because the show I watched Eurons fleet movements were all perfectly plausible. But this idea of them warping around seems to keep gaining traction when it's nonsense. Shame as it seems to be preventing some folk from enjoying a really good show!
Said it a few times now Dorne and Casterly rock fleets leave roughly at same time. Euron ambushes and take out the Dorne fleet shortly after they leave dragonstone, heads back to Kings Landing with his prize. Unsullied are away on their way to the far side of the continent. A journey of what? At least a week or two. Euron sets out from Kings Landing ASAP in pursuit a day, maybe two behind on perhaps a 10 day journey. He arrives after the siege is complete so maybe a day late meaning he made up maybe a days worth of time. Not that implausible considering they're the Ironborn and spend their lives at sea reaving!
Not a warp engine in sight.

Gendry running back wasn't really a stretch - say they made 20 miles from the wall, that's doable. The raven getting back to Dragonstone over one night is probably the biggest stretch we've seen but if that stops you enjoying a Dragon cavalry rescue you're probably watching the wrong show.

When Alan Taylor himself admits that they've screwed the timelines up, there's little you can say that will justify it to anyone xD

I don't really have an issue with the way time is now seen to pass in the show. What I do have issue with is the writers using it to crowbar in dumb, contrived and lazily written plot points that make little to no sense.

Personally I'm finding the jumping around a bit jarring but I agree that the real issue is what is happening between the skips. Perhaps if these events were spaced out with more downtime they wouldn't seem quite so ridiculous...but it really does feel like some aspects of the show have jumped the shark.

Precisely. These moments have always happened, but they where ALWAYS sold to us beforehand with superb build up.

For this one episode and in particular the rescue, which I already said was a stretch. But none of the other stuff this season that people have been incessantly whining about has been!

His full quote from the article (just looked it up):

“We were aware that timing was getting a little hazy,” Taylor told Variety. “We’ve got Gendry running back, ravens flying a certain distance, dragons having to fly back a certain distance…In terms of the emotional experience, [Jon and company] sort of spent one dark night on the island in terms of storytelling moments. We tried to hedge it a little bit with the eternal twilight up there north of The Wall. I think there was some effort to fudge the timeline a little bit by not declaring exactly how long we were there. I think that worked for some people, for other people it didn’t. They seemed to be very concerned about how fast a raven can fly but there’s a thing called plausible impossibilities, which is what you try to achieve, rather than impossible plausibilities. So I think we were straining plausibility a little bit, but I hope the story’s momentum carries over some of that stuff.”

“It’s cool that the show is so important to so many people that it’s being scrutinized so thoroughly,” he continued. “If the show was struggling, I’d be worried about those concerns, but the show seems to be doing pretty well so it’s OK to have people with those concerns.”

So basically believe the ravens can fly 100mph, or they spent 4 days on the island or think it was nonsense. Personally it could definitely have been handled better but I'm not going to let it ruin the episode for me. There was a lot more good going on there than bad. A lot more.

Ahhh I'd love to be able to agree with you but... as I've said, the time perception stuff doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as the sloppy writing.
