INTEL BRING THE BIG GUNS!

So still way behind the 1950x. Cheers for the info :)

hm, cool so how about this:

and hows your 10k 3dmark cpu score treating you?

One thing I've wondered with over clocking the ram, is do all you chaps / chapesses work all timings out in in Excel (As I have a spreadsheet with this in for mine) or do you use some sort of online calculator to bump to the timings?

nothing so professional, lower numbers till it crashes. probably why i dont have 1t yet :D

Once you've done it for long enough, you remember the timing rules and what concessions need to be made, at least with the foremost secondary timings :). There are static rules in place, once you exceed those the chipset will subsidise the arbitrary value with a working one (what exactly happens is anyone's guess here). Nobody here can really say they understand DRAM, just some better than others

CB15 synthetic? Lol. You know it's built on an actual 3d ray tracing program (Cinema 4D ) don't you?

It represents pretty much my exact usage scenario - 3DS Max and Blender - in which the 1950X also easily outperforms the 7900X.

Well then you bought the correct cpu didnt you? the 7900x is also cheaper. or does that argument only work against intel when talking about the Ryzens?

Indeed. I spent countless hours (days) with DDR3 (Samsung Green ftw) and scouring forums. A lot translates across to DDR4, now i've spend more hours with DDR4 thanks to Ryzen requiring the effort. Good job i find it fun tbh.

Well then, I won't question what you use your machine for lol. It has 6 more cores, should be no surprises there if being selective. AMD got their marketing bang on as far as you're concerned ;)

It's the finer tuning side to these new platforms for sure, even if the gains are slim.

Would be interested to see your full memory timings and aida bench if you have the time. I havent seen any other 7900x benches on it so im not sure what i should be shooting for! /amemorytimingnab

I certainly did.

Hey, if you want the best, you need to pay for it :D

Threadripper thread is that way --------->

Go 'Rip' your own thread

No worries, although keep in mind the APEX is a bit of a different beast when it comes to memory. This is using the 4x8GBbdie 1.4v preset with a couple of adjustments. These things take time (kit is G.SKILL F4-3200C14Q-32GTZ)

Its a great platform, really nice to tweak and runs great. The temps prevent anymore than 4.8Ghz core and 33 cache, so inevitably ill delid it at some point, but for now its fine, gaming max temps around 65

Yes, thermals are a problem. What sort of voltage are you using for 33 uncore?

Also, thanks for the timings! plugged them in, cl16 wasnt stable (and dont want to increase system agent etc any more) but 17 works fine and gained a good 4gb/s! You the man ;)

CR1 causes a complete freeze so im guessing that its IMC related
