Pewdiepie racism

h3h3's video response.

That's really all that needs to be said.

That said regarding Disney; I can understand why they had to drop him. It's political bull, but you can't expect to exclaim death to all Jews and then promptly follow with songs from Frozen.

Yea it was stupidity on pewdiepies part, he knows he's under the Disney banner and with that you should know you can't be making edgy jokes like that.

turns out one of the main stream media WSJ journalists has tweeted plenty of un-PC jokes himself

oh and now Disney is letting go 80 workers at it's makers studio

The one thing they do seem to forget, that is evident under that twitter status, is that new media is prominent people will now see the alternatives and someone with millions of followers has a bigger platform to illustrate their hypocrisy and shoddy journalism than their newspaper does - anyway it turns out that not only were these journalists pretty unethical but one of them is a massive hypocrite and quite rightly this ***** is getting called out for it

since this story I decided to check out his latest video:

Few people in the comments have made the good point that J.K.Rowling seems to have forgotten about her one Harry Potter books character Rita Skeeter - the dodgy reporter woman who loved taking things out of context. Bit sad to see her falling for the same sort of dubious reporting herself in real life.

So what meaning are you deriving from above?

I'll repeat myself, since I can't think of a clearer way to say it:

"Given that the word has at least two utterly different meanings, it doesn't settle anything much."

Very obviously, I am not deriving a meaning from it. If I was deriving a meaning from it, I wouldn't be saying that it doesn't settle much because it has multiple meanings.

I know that some people believe that it's a magic word and what it means depends solely on what they interpret as the race of the person saying it. I'm not one of those people.

Perhaps before posting you should read, listen and watch the context of how he used the N word (with a hard R) before turning apologist.

He used it in anger, he used the word to express his anger, he used it in a derogatory manner, meant as an insult to a fellow gamer. It wasn't a "hey what's up ma n###a" (not that, that would make it ok even in that context) but you would know that if you spent 30 seconds looking into it.

A load of fuss over nothing as usual. he said a word that 90% of the gaming community use frequently, its no surprise he might slip up and say it at some point by accident. Saying that word does NOT make you racist, just like the majority of the gaming community that use it aren't either.

If its such a bad word then ban rappers from using it. Being a certain colour doesn't grant you the right to use a certain word and anyone else of a different colour that uses it is immediately branded a racist. Or at least it shouldn't work that way.

Sounds like normal online gaming to me.
"Raping" noobs and n******.

He's no more racist than the next man, but given his exposure I'm pretty sure he's in truly deep **** this time.

Dunno why I'm defending him, don't really care, maybe just as a gamer it puts into context, as sad as that is.

I'm an online gamer and have never called anyone n***** in online chat.

Just because lots of white people think it's funny, doesn't make it any less racist.

The "oh I didn't mean it in a racist way" is no defense at all.
