They're christians... they believe in marriage between a man and woman. Thats why they chose the school.
The law contradicts their religion. Its a choice between not discriminating against the trans kid (or their parents), and respecting the religious beliefs of others. They obviously decided gender trumped religion. Which is par for the course in 2017.
What I don't get is why that kid was even at a religious school to begin with. The religion itself discriminates against them. What are they gonna do, ban religion next?
