'Incident' on Tube - District Line

Does it? We've gone from passenger jets being flown into buildings to exploding lidl shopping bags. Is that really a reason to be scared?
Depends... Are Lidl selling cheap explosive bags in their weekly Specials section, now?

Ditto, Kids with IED's or bigger kids with ICBM's
One way or another, aside from those few directly affected by it, people used to be quite inured by just another bombing. I've been near more than one bombing and each time people were on the phones to the other half, grumbling that they would be late home...

It's taken a bit more seriously these days, but I blame the papers and media sensationalism telling us we should be terrified.

BBC doing 'live coverage' of a failed terrorist attack, where its quite possible that more people were injured in a stampede to escape rather than the direct result of the device.

Anything for viewers / clicks

I keep hearing the word - "manhunt" being mentioned on the tv.
Why haven't the femiNazis/Guardian/BBC/usual leftie ***** been all over that because if the word - "womanhunt" was used it would have been eradicated long ago because associating the sisterhood with something bad is not allowed period.

Theresa May's response is apparently to clamp down on the internet more, does she know that most countries in the ME being torn apart by ISIS don't even have the internet?

Sadiq Kahn's response even worse calls for more police, how about just stop overwhelming all public services with unfettered immigration just to tick virtue signalling boxes?

Hopefully no one is seriously hurt and they catch the scum responsible fast.

Airports have massive queues, much larger staff numbers, far larger waiting areas and even a very busy airport doesn't have the same number of people that some of the tube stations deal with per hour.

Unless you're expecting people to arrive at the tube station several hours in advance of every journey and massively enlarge them it's not practical.

Heathrow (one of the busiest airports in the world) has something like 800k passengers a day, the London underground deals with around 5 million many from smaller stations that aren't even fully manned.

Never read all the thread...oh dear

yet again you post something unrelated, your post was ridiculous and you back it up with another ridiculous post that doesn't say anything.

I disagree. The post I replied to was telling you why there are waiting times at airports. But you know better as normal....

it was 9 pages all about luggage handling, nothing, zip, about security clearance. You know the important part of what takes time when taken in context with this thread.

I also remember the 70's, Aldershot and Guildford, then there were others Birmingham etc. You basically get on with your life and trust that **** does not happen nearby. To alter schedules or fear going anywhere is letting them win.

I wouldn't waste your time, Deuse can never admit when his mistaken/wrong.

Well I always thought Marco Pierre White was a bit of an idiot, his tweet today removed any doubt

Unfettered what?
Define what is unfettered about this country's current immigration processes?
Explain in detail please.

What a bizarre thing to get your knickers in a twist about.

You'll have to remind me how the BBC would benefit from 'views/clicks'. Aside from your nutjob conspiracy theories of course.

You do know that it was a pressure cooker bomb put inside a Lidl bag? The thing could've killed and maimed dozens. While yes it's not on the scale of the 9/11 attacks, the effects could've been horrific.

Its still all amateur hour stuff though - horrific for the few people involved sure - but how many hundreds of thousands of people were on the tube this morning...

Once upon a time it was fears of dirty bombs and biological attacks.

Do you not find this level of coverage over the top considering the nature of incident

Also are numbers of viewers / clicks not an important metric to the BBC?, they may not bring in revenue as other ad supported news outlets but i would imagine its still something the BBC monitors closely and reacts to when covering stories.

And my point was not made to endorse any kind of conspiracy theory, but to make a point about the intensity and fervor to which mainstream media these days seems to cover stories which really don't need it.

The odd thing here is that it wasn't a suicide attack. A guy on the news just saying the target was the style of a jihadi attack, ie: causing mass injury and mayhem in a crowded public area but the method was more IRA/Right wing, ie : a timer bomb left in place.

So if it is jihadi, which does seem most likely, it's either someone didn't have the nerve to blow themselves up or a shift in tactics

Though there were those arrests a few days ago of serving soldiers who were members of National Action, a far right neo-nazi group on suspicion of preparing acts of terrorism

Just another attempt on people's lives, nothing to see here.

I find it confusing how Grenfell is the top of every news agenda, and yet, Manchester is long forgotten despite the ideology behind it still encouraging attacks like this on the tube.
