It really depends on your data plan and how much iCloud storage you pay for these days IMO, rather than how much local storage you have immediately available, unless you either play a lot of games regularly that take up gigabytes or are filming non-stop all day. If you use the Optimise Storage function then your older media still shows up in thumbnail form on your camera roll/albums, but the actual files get removed from your phone and stored in your iCloud library after a while so if you play them again they have to get loaded remotely over wifi/cellular.
 
5s to an 8 is a nice upgrade, works fine with a £12 wireless charger from the rainforest company. Biggest hassle was remembering how to fix virginmedia's mail setup for an ntlworld mail account :/
 
My plan is to pay this phone off within 6 months to a year, then see what happens next year. If by some chance we get a new iPhone like the X for the price of the 8 plus, then I’ll grab it, but I’m determined to not pay £1k for a phone.

Just storage 64gb would seem sufficient currently but I dont wanna end up running out so may end up coercing myself into the overkill 256.

I say this now but then I'll change my mind lol, guess I have a month to make my decision.

Im indecisive.

Another note, glad to see they stepped up again with the camera.

I hope the battery lifes good on the X.

I would not say a flop, I could get an X if I wanted but I never buy 1st gen apple stuff after getting the iPhone 4 years ago and having to put a rubber band around the phone to make a call!! I think we called it "Antenna-Gate", remember the free bumper case?

I just have a bad feeling about face id, "Face-Gate" we shall see...

Maybe the X comes with a free face cloth and bar of soap!

The 8 does what I need from a phone at the moment, I will definitely look at getting the Xs next year!

Really, I think the x is well under what it should be over the 8.

face id offers nothing in functionality (nice tech but not a game changer (it unlocks your phone))
The first oled screen they have isn't as high a res. as samsungs and has a notch cut out of it

Its going to be a good phone, but for me just not a killer one compared to the 8. Feel like they could have pushed things further and just charged more. People would still pay.

I think next years iphone will be the more interesting one.
 
I don’t think this wireless charger is actually any good, it’s taken 40 minutes to go from 62% to 67%.

Definitely investing in a fast charger.
 
Really pleased with the iPhone 8 Plus coming from an iPhone 6.

The screen is amazing.
Photos are amazing.
Stereo sound is amazing.
3D Touch is a nice addition.
The glass back of the iPhone 8 Plus feels nicer in the hand than the aluminium of the iPhone 6.

My only negative is the device is quite a bit heavier than the iPhone 6 I am used to, but I am sure I will be used to it after a week.
