*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

Well I have had 3 60% offers through the post in the last 2 weeks now. Not doing anything until my Ombudsman case is resolved with them .

Still have no line or internet and looks like the 5th October it will be connected
Honestly I'm lost since sky screwed up and cancelled my services by mistake and the fact it will have taken over a month to even get a line connected after Sky messed my account up is a joke.

Honestly it's horrible using 4g for everything lol

I am currently processing my cancellation and coming up to my 4th and final week. I am hanging out for the 60% offer ( sky offered only 50% discount currently ) but I am being told there is no 60% offer out there. Could I be cheeky and ask if the reference on the 3 letters you received seem generic or just personal to you Kieves1? Could you share via a message with me?

They're wise to people playing this game now and are playing back. I currently have a 40% offer and was told today that there was no 50% offers out there. I'll hang on for a while I think. Although still wouldn't mind sky q :D

Waited for online chat to connect for 45 minutes at 6pm and got nothing.

Guess I'll try tomorrow

Virgin coming this Saturday to install VIP package 12 months @ £90. They cant be wise to me I havn't cancelled before!

Glad I happened to look in here. Reminded me that my offer was about to expire.

So it looks like my bill is about to jump from £68.66 to £149.24. I won't be paying that. So looks like I need ~54% off the entire thing. I'm guessing that there is no discount on the multiroom though, so will likely need the full 60% to stay. If they don't give me that, I'll just cancel the whole lot, move to BT for my interwebs, and take advantage of their £120 Quidco offer, alongside their £120 mastercard offer. Or just ditch all TV completely again, I only got the TV for the F1 channel anyway.

If they're not freely offering the 60% deals, are there still new customer deals with similar discounts? As I'll just get my housemate to sign up in his name.

I did something similar to that a while back. Swapped it between my own and my wifes name. Took a full week to do it staying with the same company (BT in this case). No internet for a week. Wasn't worth doing, lol.

As far as I can see, there isn't really any new customer discounts nearly on par with the 60% unfortunately.

Thanx Jez, 60% off and £75 credit. Just what Im after, the wife will be happy.

On Chat now and I get this

'm checking your account and this offer does not show in the records. However, I can offer you the 60% discount on the TV packages for 12 months - but we do not have the bill credit to offer. So if you want to know the costs of the TV packages with the 60% discount, please let me know.

They upped our bill to £92. Said that we can't afford that and they said they could do £80 if we lost sports.

After a day of haggling we managed to get it down to £44.80 per month for all channels plus movies and sky q / mini. Lost sports and bill has gone up 9 quid but I can handle that.

Bill is going from £22 to £56. That includes Boxsets and Movies. Will be phoning up to get the same offer plus the Sky Q box for free. Otherwise switching to Virgin.

Virgin have offered £52 for Full House + Sports + 200MB Fibre + Phone. I currently pay Virgin £30 for 70MB + phone, so only an extra £22.
