Fall Creator Update | 20% MORE Gaming Performance

CS:GO tested - chap used a test map and saw an improvement from 350FPS to 380FPS,although TBF that is plenty!!

He linked in some other results where people with slower rigs, saw similar gains in the game.

Joker was running i7 7700K @ 5 ghz though no low end Cpu..
They lots of confusion going around..

GN was running an overclocked 8 core Ryzen. Look at Forza 7 CPU scaling:

It does not like SMT beyond a certain level, but likes more cores. Now look at what someone on Overclock.net got with a 4C/8T CPU:

The update must be helping with SMT utilisation or something like that.

I installed this update and its killed my machine. Had to do a full system restore and i'm still struggling to play games properly.

First it started off with every monitor (3) flickering every few seconds with extremely low clock on 1080ti. After a windows reinstall the flickering has stopped but i can't even play the division or elite dangerous without stuttering.

No idea how to fix this, i've tried clean installing latest nvidia drivers multiple times.

I know they was using Ryzen, but the guy with biggest gains was using an overclocked i7 7700K mate.
It seems from what I have seen this update mostly effect GPU performance and Cpu hasn't changed.

People with Ryzen 5 CPUs are seeing good performance jumps though(even look at some of the comments elsewhere). Look at nashathedog's Ryzen 5 1600 and GTX1080 scores, especially the minimums. I have an IB Core i7 with a GTX1080. The stuttering I was getting in some of my modded settlements has more or less gone in FO4. FPS has not really gone up massively. The chap using an emulator,or even CS:GO performance, etc. The only way the FPS can go up,is realistically is probably by the CPU being used more efficiently in some way - that means better SMT utilisation for example,or the windows display driver being less of a bottleneck.

Forza 7 stuttering is now gone:

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/windo...-fixes-forza-motorsport-7s-stuttering-issues/

As we’ve reported in our PC Performance Analysis, Forza Motorsport 7 suffered from severe stuttering issues. Earlier yesterday, the Windows 10 Fall Creators update went live and to our surprise, Turn10’s racer is now completely stuttering-free on the PC.

After more than an hour playing Forza Motorsport 7, we did not experience a single stutter. We don’t know what Microsoft has done, however the game stuttered like crazy prior to this update.

We’ve tested the game on both NVIDIA’s and AMD’s GPUs, using the exact same drivers. And while we did not notice any framerate boost, our gaming experience was flawless. Thanks to the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, we were able to unlock the framerate and retain really high framerates. Framepacing was great and there weren’t any stutters even after our extensive testing.

We can confirm that Turn10 has not released any new update for the game, so this overall improvement is entirely thanks to the latest Windows 10 update. As such, we strongly suggest downloading it if you are planning to get this new racing game.

We’ve also tested Forza Horizon 3 and we did not notice any stuttering issues in that open-world racing game too.

It appears that all of Forza Motorsport 7’s PC issues have been resolved with the Windows 10 Fall Creators update. The game now runs silky smooth, there are no loading issues (previously the game could freeze while selecting a race) and there are no stuttering issues.

Here is a screenshot of Forza Motorsport 7 after playing for an hour.

This is great news for everyone, best Windows update to date?
Am just in the process of benching sine games that I already have installed. Some processes will be screenshots from game others will be if they have in game benchmarks.

I also doing my differently, game mode off on this version vs game mode enabled on FCU
Reason is I already know game mode effects my performance in my testing so I want to compare the best I got now vs the best the update has plus I don't want to really spend to much time on this.

Try game mode on and off with Win10 Creators and then the same with Win10 Fall Creators, just to be sure! I get a slightly increase in FO4 performance in settlements with game mode on in the Fall Creators update, although TBF it was one of the few games it did apparently help before(which I apparently didn't know since everyone said it was a waste of time) with the Creators update.

But its all a bit weird at times as some people are seeing good improvements, and then others don't. However,if you are testing maybe also watch for things like stutter and whether that has gotten better.

Not sure about FPS but elite dangerous VR played smooth yeterday. Today its jittery as hell.

Updated over night.

Let see if Nvidia bring out new drivers
