Gran Turismo "Sport"

Just picked this up and really enjoying it, however i would like some friends in my list in order to compare lap times and give me something to aim for, i'm not very good but hopefully it would help me improve

Would anybody like to add me PSN Daffy--67 :)

There is a list of names and psn's in the events thread :) but I can drop you request later too.

I have a lead foot and and kept locking up my brakes so i decided to mod my T300 brake pedal as per this video

My result

It has made a big difference, and is a Very cheap and effective way without splashing out for new pedals, the thing is called a Stoppy :D

Well after a few online races with some stupid drivers my SR went from B down to D, so annoying that my rating is based on how good/poor the other drivers around me are. Guess I should get quicker and qualify first to get away from them!

While your SR is still D, I wouldn't worry about winning races, just keep your distance, pass when you know 100% you can make it cleanly and just concentrate on having clean races. Sooner you get the higher SR, races become much better and aiming to compete competitively with them is more fun.

I managed to get back up to a C after the 10 lap daily race, still idiot drivers (almost all of them!), but GT's own tracks are a fair bit wider than the real race circuits so it made avoiding them much easier

Is the key to approaching corners not to skid? In my quest to become a better driver I'm looking at how I approach corners!

Thought as much, I seem to break earlier but then get out-braked by the AI or real players!

Try to "cut back" underneath if this happens. Other cars might out brake you, but will go deeper into the corner allowing you to focus on getting the car straight earlier and thus get your power down sooner. Unless they nail the corner and you started braking too soon.

Brake hardest at first, then gradually reduce the amount of braking force as you slow down. This will help prevent locking the wheels.

Or just use ABS :D

Finally got to SR B and the quality of opponent has improved dramatically.

Had some seriously intense and clean races tonight. Never had a game raise the old heart rate so much.

How many Sport Mode races have we all won? I think I'm on my 8th win, I usually only play the group 4 race each day. Hoping to win the G4 daily today on Dragon Trail too if I get a lucky lap qualifying. Anybody close to getting the record number of wins achievement yet? I can see it taking me forever, if ever.

I've won 3 or 4 I think. You need to qually in the top 3/4 to stand a chance really.

Yeah definitely, I've only had 1 pole but been lucky with a few of my wins. Quite often I find if you sit behind people they will eventually crumble under the pressure, had a race the other day where I was third for 3 laps, on the final lap the guys in 1st and 2nd crashed into each other on the penultimate corner and I drove straight between them for a win. Felt good. :D
