That's concerning. One reason I sold my pro was that it was distractingly noisy.
 
I've watched a couple of teardown vids on YouTube and on both when the xb1x heatsink is removed the thermal paste is dry and crusty, is this a potential worry?
 
I’m sure the paste is crap but it looks just as crap as the paste under the IHS on Intel CPUs and other than higher temps they are fine.

MS would have tested it and they don’t want an RROD type fiasco ever again so I’m not worried personally.
 
I've tried to redeem the free month game pass voucher multiple times and multiple ways now and it won't work. Im using the free fortnight they give you now so do I need to let this run out first?

Just done similar but a normal version from Game along with gears 4, forza 7 and rise of tomb raider.

That's the afternoon sorted (well apart from a heap of downloading)
 
Seeing as I only have a 37" 1080p LG TV how would 360 and OG Xbox games look? PC is running on a 1440p 144hz G Sync but I am considering one..

Can't really buy a 4k TV as Ive only just bought a replacement stand for this as it snapped while bending it to clean.

Running mine on a 32' LG and it looks superb, I can only imagine what it would look like in 4K but I'm very happy.
 
One thing I miss from my PC is the ability to get thermal readings from the CPU/GPU and bearing in mind how much is in this beast it would be nice to know, shame it can't be implemented in consoles.

Looks great on my 1080p 60inch TV. My X is connected to that instead of my 49inch 4K TV in my bedroom.

Also an update is coming for the console to support native 1440p. Will be great for people using gaming monitors.
 
Even more tempting regarding the monitor situation.

My Xbox One is just gathering dust and I haven't even sold it yet, so I was hesistant on getting the next shiny thing.
 
Back on it this morning, can’t sign in, downloads keep pausing etc etc, this is getting a bit of a joke now, definitely something amiss.
 
One thing I am enjoying with my X is playing shooters. PC is just hyper competitive and just don't have the time for all that anymore.

Been playing fortnite battle royale and it's actually playable now whereas my xb1 was just a lag fest. Theres even an option in settings to uncap frame rate and X enhanced patch coming down the line. I'm enjoying it so far.

Battlefront 2 looks amazing, although gameplay is a bit so so.

Even though all Xbox services appear to be ok, I think MS are just taking a hammering hence wonky log ins etc. Mines been on constantly downloading since 3pm Thursday. I've had a few downloads stop randomly or skip for some reason but signing out and back in usually sorts it out.

I've always found the XB1 never likes to have too much installing/downloading/pending at once.

I’m having to reset the box to get it to start downloading, does about a gig and then stops. Have to reset again to resume, hopefully this’ll get an update of some sort.
