*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

That actually worked. I just ordered Sky Q multiroom via the MySky app and am getting a 2Tb box plus mini box for free plus free installation (due to my VIP Black status) for a extra £12 per month making my new total £36.80 a month which I am happy with. Today has been a good day so far.

Phoned them up this morning and got through to a lovely cheerful lady who offered my existing discount (60%) fixed for another 18 months straight away. So that's the legacy HD pack and variety pack (I get box sets as well) for £24.80 a month which I am happy with. Now to try my VIP black offer of a free Sky Q 2tb box with multiroom for £12 a month through the MySky app.

Great result. If they could offer me 60% I would have stayed. Alas, they have not. Booooo.

My retentions call this year was less fruitful, pretty sure I was offered around 40% (she wouldn't talk percentages, only price). No attempt to go any further when I said no, just 'I'll make sure you don't get any more of these calls'. I have 30% showing in My Sky (desktop) and 'call us to discuss your VIP offer' in the app - how did you know about the Sky Q offer if you don't mind me asking?

It's in my VIP (I qualify for VIP Black) tab in the MySky app on my mobile. I also used the VIP phone number that is also in the app but they ended up putting me through to cancellations. Got through straight away though.

Just used the above deal. Got 2tb box, 1x mini box with sky boxsets, movies and multi room for £42 a month on a 18 month contract with £65 setup fee. I'm more that happy with that.

Sky have been a complete and utter shambles regarding Sky Q.

Phoned up 2 weeks ago, agreed to pay for my installation and boxes, which is fine. Was told I would get a discount on my package that would effectively recoup my installation costs over 18 months. So far so good.

Installation due tomorrow. Checked my bill today, it's gone up, despite being told I would get a discount.

Phoned billing, no record of this on the account, they are pulling the tapes and getting back to me within 3 days.

Meanwhile, engineer phoned to confirm installation tomorrow. We have a chat about my house layout and fact that the dish I have feeds all the rooms via a multichange. Excellent and knowledgable engineer informs me we can't do the installation via exiting setup and recommends I cancel.

Sky calls me to cancel, assures me account will be returned to original state. Just checked my account, guess what, it's not. Extra charges for this month still there and next months bill is higher than last.

Brilliant Sky, just brilliant.

Will give it a few days then see if i can get through to someone to unravel this mess, can't say I'm that hopeful.

Are there any deals involving sky q, sky talk and sky fibre for existing customers? currently have all three and the current deal is running out soon. was paying £43 for everything and this will double at the next bill

I have been with Sky for over 16 years (Black Tier) and took out Sky Q in March 16, the 18month contract ended in September 17.
Rang them up today to try and get a better deal than the £129.99 (includes £6 discount on Sports/Cinema Package) that I'm currently paying.
I have Sky Q Silver + 2 Mini Boxes with Sports and Movies along with Sky Telephone (Evenings and Weekend) + Fibre Unlimited.

The retentions team could only offer me a deal to stay with sky at a price of £99.79, locking me in to another 18month contract.
I was not happy with this deal telling them that Sky is offering my friends and family deals with 60% off, with my loyalty I should at least have the same offer!

Unfortunately the telephone advisor could not do any more apparently as the system did not allow her, so I went ahead with the cancellation.

My sky online account now has a deal to stay with them with 30% off (obviously not happy with that)
Hoping they provide a better deal with cancellation going through, will keep you updated on the progress! :)

Most of the replies on this thread show people upgrading from Sky+ to Sky Q, has one else been in this similar position renewing their Sky Q and what did you manage to get them down to?

I was only offered 40% off my sky package by an advisor and that was after phoning them again. Last year they phoned me and gave me 60% off but they arent that desperate this time.

The sky.com/stay50 did also work for 50% off this time but sky never told me that I read about it on here.

Having an absolute mare getting Q installed. Apparently only love digital can do install in London yet they keep sending normal engineers despite all emails, texts etc say it'll be love digital.

4th attempt (and day off) and they can't get anything earlier than middle December as I'm not around end of Nov. Omni-shambles.
No faith it won't just happen again and haven't even offered a token discount as a sorry.

Just signed up to Sky Q ,2 tb box, 1 sky mini thing, sports and boxset , £50 credit, free install, no £10 admin fee, 18 month contract £54 ish a month, is that a good deal?

Havent even got an install date , lot of demand he says!

Although looking at my future bills in my sky account, the price says £42.30 ** edit, they've not added multi screen yet**

There is a long wait for SkyQ installation, I suppose a lot of it depends where you are but mine is not going to be installed until 16th December.

So as an early adopter of SKY Q Silver I have been told I can give notice next month after an 18 month contract. I will effectively be out of contract on phone , fibre and TV .

I’m currently paying £118 a month for everything, phone extra sky q box , 40 meg fibre , and all TV packages . What sort of discount could I negotiate based on people experiences?

It depends on your exact package. Those Q Silver early adopter bundles are currently more expensive than standard Sky prices.

I've got the Full package, 2TB Box, Multi Screen and 80meg, oh and pay as you go phone...I did have a mega-deal and payed £51 a month for the first 12 months (thanks to MissChief!), it went up to £130 or something equally as daft...got them down to £88 without much hassle (rolling monthly contract), the new customer deal is currently £82 so anything around there is what you should be aiming for (in my limited experience)

From what you're telling me, if you're on the Silver bundle, your full price should be 135.99 (44 for Box Sets TV package which includes Sports HD, 27.50 for Sports, 8.50 for Cinema, 12 for QMS, 25 for Fibre Max, 18.99 Line Rental).

With a rebundling of the subscription to reflect current packages and prices, and with current global offers, you could go down to 113.99.

There is a possibility to reduce it even further, as there may also be better offers than the global ones in your account. Offers are account specific and generated by the system, it takes everything into account to generate them (how long you have been a customer, what your package was and is, what offers you have had before and you currently have, how much you're paying on average, whether you were ever late, even your postcode).

New customer deals are always slightly better as all companies chase new customers and numbers, and want to somehow entice you to leave your existing provider.
