Xbox One X

A handful of 360 games have been optimised for the X, a total of 7 I think - Mirror's Edge, Fallout 3, Gears of War 3 for example. I've only tried Gears 3 on mine but it does look surprisingly good.

Downloading the 58.72GB update for Doom at the moment. I've got it on PC already, but it was cheap on Xbox and I wouldn't mind playing it again anyway.
 
Damn someone at work just ordered one and I'm really on the fence. I don't have a bluray player at all since ditching the ps4 last year so that bumps it up a bit I guess

But I game a fair bit on PC via my TV at times. Not sure. What's been the best selling point for you lot so far?

It's a pretty cheap 4k UHD player, but so is the X1 S.

Mirrors edge also has HDR and looks incredible, Fallout 3 and Oblivion also look great from the resolution bump and improved filtering.
 
Got my X this morning all setup now running it through my denon x2300 av amp to my lg c6 initially had an issue with one of my hdmi cables but changing it sorted that.

Amazon basics cables for the win lol

Just have to download my catalogue of games to the x as i have not had an xbox for a few years.

Is there a list of games that support dolby atmos ?
 
Stupidly I assumed Doom was an X enhanced title so was wondering why I couldn't see it in my list of X enhanced games. Clearly the X update isn't out yet after all.

Oh well. Got other games ready to check out, like Rise of the Tomb Raider.
 
I think Doom just takes advantage of the extra power and runs at solid 1080P on the X rather than the resolution scaling up and down on the One.

I just remembered if I do get one I'd have access to Gears 4 and Forza Horizon 3 as I have them on pc. Also I have Gears ultimate edition, did that get a patch?

Aye, it seems it does still get some advantage even in its current state. It is getting a full 4K resolution update eventually though, but no idea when that's out.

Though do pay attention to what is available now and what is coming soon. Horizon 3 isn't getting its update until January. Looks like only Gears 3 and Gears 4 have X updates.

Ahh appreciate that thanks! I bet Diablo 3 would be nice at 4k!
 
If you're looking for some of the more recently released 'X enhanced' games, Shadow of War is under £30 and Assassins Creed Origins is £37 on CK keys, with the usual 5% discount it comes in at around £63.

Not bad for two recent games, Shadow of War is play anywhere as well if that floats your boat.

Looking forward to putting the X through it's paces later :)

Edit: What I'm really looking forward to is FH3 though, already looks awesome on the S so in 4K it should look ridiculous.

Are they aiming for 60fps with horizon 3? It may be hard to play coming from playing it on PC. But then pc can't do HDR and i havent quite the grunt to max out at 4k anyway
