MPs vote that ‘animals can’t feel pain.

I'll let you know soon if they feel pain or not, that is if the new neighbours don't heed my warnings and fail to keep their retarded looking dog from barking ALL DAY AND ALL ******* NIGHT!

Disgusting

I've if the main reasons kids voted in the eu was to protect what little environmental laws we have.

Greed knows no bounds. People disgust me.

"During a debate in parliament the Government said animal sentience is covered by the Animal Welfare Act 2006."

They voted that we already have laws covering sentience, not that animals can't feel pain. Good headline though, seems to have had the desired effect.
It is one of those headlines which would benefit from being read with a bit of scrutiny, as taken at face value it makes no sense. Under what possible circumstances would MPs be debating whether animals can feel pain? How is that an issue for parliamentary debate? They’re not biologists of veterinary scientists. Even if they were, how is it something to be enshrined in law? We don’t have laws saying animals do or don’t feel pain; that’s a precept on which to base laws. We have laws saying we mustn’t cause them pain, which is what is actually being debated here.

It’s nonsense.

This is only the first step in ’deregulation’. The Tories will be coming after your human, worker and consumer rights before Brexit is concluded.

RSPCA head of public affairs David Bowles said: ‘It’s shocking. This is truly a backward step for animal welfare. ‘Only domestic animals are really covered by the provisions of the act and animals in the wild and laboratories are expressly exempt. ‘It is simply wrong for the Government to claim that the act protects animal sentience.
Are the Tories doing their best to get 'traditional' fox hunting for their rich chums back on the cards? Tally-ho!

Tory scum. This is why I prefer animals to people. I'm a dog trainer and yes they feel pain! Both physically and mentally. What is wrong with people?

Try not to get upset by ignorant morons cause it's a waste of time. Clearly animals feel pain, it's a natural defense response to bodily harm.

Ah yes fox hunting. As the (not so) UK moves full steam ahead into the 19th century, I think to myself 'what a time to be alive'

Blaming this on Brexit is incredibly short sighted, look at the bigger picture, our elected government can now vote on things like this and can also be judged on them. When the next election comes around they can be held accountable rather than all these things just being done by the EU. If you disagree with it then great, vote for a party that promises to change the law at the next election, or if enough pressure get's put on the Tories then they will be forced to change it back. This is us having control of our country.
