I’ve had a triple, that’s why I thought about the MT-09, higher CC engine with some character.

The engine is better than even the new Street Triple 765, but the rest is made up from bargain bucket components.

The new MT-09 SP goes half way towards fixing that though.

Been looking at the SP, looks good.

Have you seen the new naked fireblade?

189bhp so probably around 160/170 at the wheel? Looks like a very nice bike.

I'm not a big fan of standard inline fours, but it should have a great power to weight ratio. It'll be expensive though.

Are you talking about the 2018 CB1000R? That's 143bhp at the crank, so around 120bhp-ish at the wheel.

Hate to say it but if you think your BMW IL4 doesn't have much character... It looks great as a retro-modern design, but I'm sure it's heavy and honda IL4's have never been known for their excitement.

What's everyones thoughts on the VFR800F as a commuter? Tempted to get one. For a year old model it's 7k and for new it's 10k. Pretty fed up of commuting on my Bonneville and can't afford a 17k GS :P

Imho it's a great choice. Watch out for the expensive valve service if you're doing higher mileage. Tbh after ringing up honda dealer and asking for prices myself I didn't feel it was too bad but depends what you're comparing it too!
What's the interval on the valve checks?

So first major balls up after getting my bike about 8 weeks ago. Four hours sleep, cloudy head on the way to work, went to refuel and filled my near empty tank with deisel :(:rolleyes:

My mates Dad took it all apart, cleaned anywhere the fuel has been (that's accessible at least?) and filled it back up with petrol. It's working fine again now but I feel like it's lost a little bit of torque. By all means it still goes and it's only a 125 so it's not like it had loads of it to begin with anyway but does this sound normal? The more I've been ridiing it the more normal it's starting to feel again. Anything I should keep an eye on other than what colour pump I pick up next time? :p

You rode it?

Really shouldn't be an issue, maybe put some redex through it.

I didn't realise what I'd done until I pulled off the forecourt, went onto a 40mph road in the middle lane, tried to pull off at the lights and then it lost all power and wouldn't move. Didn't click instantly what I'd done. Ended up leaving it on someone's drive until I could collect it after work and then me and my mate managed to get it into the back of his car. Then his Dad sorted it out for me.

I've ridden it about 80 miles since I've had it back on Monday.

So it's insurance renewal time for my VFR at the end of December, now I changed bikes mid-term so haven't got a figure for last year, but I know how much I can insure it for with my 3 years NCB and 10k miles commuting per year, and that is £166 with Entire Cover or £174 with Principal insured as garaged, and £177 with principal insured on driveway (some companies are iffy about my metal garage). I know principal class my garage as a garage though.

Guess how much the 2 quotes my current insurers sent though...:D:p:rolleyes:

The first one was £990.

They obviously felt bad so sent another, this one £522.

:eek::D

LOL. That is all. :D
