*** Nintendo Switch ***

Just completed Xenoblade 2. I'm still not a fan of the waifu character design, the sidesquests mostly suck and the battle system gets a bit...samey after you've played it for 70 hours but overall I really enjoyed the main quest. The plot kept me invested and the main cast really grew on me. Now on to killing the superbosses I guess :p.

Yeah a few of the designs do bother me, but it doesn't have a big impact on how I enjoy the game; especially because I find the majority of the character designs quite interesting (good counter-balance to the waifu fan service...).

Side-quests are a mixed bag yeah. I enjoy most of them, scenarios can be interesting and I like how they have follow up content or how they change things in the world too. Improvement on XB1 imo.
I didn't really focus on side quests during main campaign but picked up loads so have like 6 pages of them, I'm finding a lot of them are half/ready to complete already, as I ran into the objectives for them earlier while playing the story etc.

I've beaten a few super-bosses so far, (including a level 120 boss with my party at level 82... somehow...). hugely satisfying when you get wiped out by a boss but then change your strategy/setup and manage to beat it. I'd say the battle system freshens up again once you start on the super-bosses.

I'm really enjoying Rabbits at the moment, picked it up just before Xmas.

I got Sonic Forces for Xmas but I have yet to even put it in yet.

Rabbids is next on my list, got sidetracked by ARMS, now I'm back on Zelda before I get round to Rabbids. Not to mention SMO, Doom, Splatoon, Skyrim, Nights of Azure and Bayonetta next month, my backlog keeps increasing

About 5 hours into Xenoblade 2 and it's really good. The only thing which spoils it for me are the mad accents of the 2 main characters. What were they thinking! I might have to try the Jap voice pack.

Picked up a switch in the ebay deal.

First impression, the analog sticks are really odd. I can't place why, but they just feel strange compared to other sticks, not worse, just odd. Maybe it's the size of them. Other than that, there were one or two small smears I guess on the screeen, mostly in the black area, Wiped off so no problem, I guess it's where the screen is fitted when made. Still a little odd to see, anyone else or just my luck.

Charging now, have no games yet, anything on the eshop worth trying that is free. Not stuck it in the dock yet, scratching issues scare me, not sure if that's overblown though or a real issue. Got some screen protectors on the way with micro sd anyway.

Regular (console controller) sticks would be too large for a portable I think, that's why they feel different. I got a feel for them quite quickly though and there's one or two games where I prefer to use them. If you want traditional feeling sticks the pro controller is very good, expensive but worth it if you plan to spend a lot of time playing docked.

As long as your dock isn't bent and you take care when docking the console, then you shouldn't cause any damage to the screen. It's worth getting a screen protector on asap regardless though.

I don't think there are any completely free games but there's a handful of demo's. On the eShop, do an empty search with the 'demo available' box ticked to see them all.

The Rayman demo is the best I've tried so far. You get a decent amount of content for a demo.

Snipperclips is worth a download too for something a bit different.

Been contemplating getting one for the last few weeks.

Finally caved today and picked up a Grey Switch with Zelda, Mario Kart, Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2. Also downloaded Stardew Valley and a lovely Zelda carry case. Just under £500 so happy with that. It was either a Switch or 1080ti.

I haven't owned a Nintendo since the GameCube. Anything I need to know or essentials I should look at picking up in the future?

Finished Steamworld Heist - great little game, a few slightly poorly done difficulty spikes towards the end but enjoyed it a lot.

Played the Octopath demo which was lovely, great style, good music and battle system with a slightly different take on Bravely Default, will definitely pick that one up on release.

Just started Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the accents are a bit annoying and the compass is just broken but despite that I can see myself sinking hours and hours into it :)

I’m using the pro controller on my switch, has anyone else noticed it sometimes takes a couple of presses of the home button to wake the console from sleep?

Whats is everybody top 5 indie games? I own sonic mania and shovel knight looking from some more, I have added golf story, axiom verge and blaster master zero to my wish list.
